You might think the starting point for any LEGO modular building is the structure itself, but that wasn't the case with the 2026 addition to the street.
"It started as an idea that I had," shared Dang while speaking to LEGO Fan Media in Billund. "I grew up in an alleyway, so to me it's really precious, and maybe one day I could make a model I can really relate to. I started by putting the alleyway in between and trying to make the angles work."

The decision to start with the alleyway means that it's one of the most well-thought-out parts of the build, incorporating more details at the back of the build since minifigures will have direct access to it. This includes a pigeon carrier post box and the continuation of the set's story down the alleyway and at the back of the buildings.
Rather than having the alleyway go straight down between the two buildings, it's integrated at an angle, making the model look more full as your eyes can't naturally see straight down the gap when facing the model head-on. Applying this angular construction to the build proved to be challenging despite some of the work already being done in prior models, since it all had to fit onto a standard baseplate.

"It's got quite interesting geometries," Dang continued. "A lot of it is math that has been before, but to fit into a 32 x 32 baseplate, it's something that we're really proud of."
It all combines to make
