From Botanicals, Super Mario and Icons to Ideas, Disney and One Piece, here are Brick Fanatics’ top 10 LEGO sets of 2025…
Hundreds of LEGO sets debuted on shelves this year, and between the Brick Fanatics team we’ve assembled a good chunk of them. Armed with that experience, we’ve each cooked up our personal nominations for our favourite sets of the year, which we’ve then weighted and aggregated to land on a final, cross-team list of our top 10 sets released in the past 12 months.
From our initial nominations, 25 sets and 37 minifigures failed to make the cut, so keep an eye out later this month for our honourable mentions. For now, check out our top 10 below and let us know your thoughts in the comments. Do you agree? Disagree? Are there any glaring omissions from the sets you’ve personally enjoyed in 2025? We’re all ears.
10 – 10349 Happy Plants

10349 Happy Plants is one example of how great creativity can still come in small packages from the LEGO Group. Interestingly, it also represents a bit of a change in style from a Botanicals theme that has otherwise found its stride with a focus on realism and techniques in bigger, more ‘adult’ sets, as here we build a couple of truly adorable plant pots in bright colours, complete with the cutest smiles on their faces.
10349 Happy Plants sits apart from everything else in the theme, in a positive way that carves out a fresh and very fun creative space that I hope Botanicals will continue to explore. From how each plant pot is posed to their simple-yet-cute designs, 10349 Happy Plants is loveable LEGO fun at a bargain price too. – Rob
9 – 10351 Sherlock Holmes: Book Nook

Out of all the book nooks the LEGO Group has come out with this year, 10351 Sherlock Holmes: Book Nook easily comes out on top. It manages to deliver both in terms of a compact display piece nestled on a shelf, but also as a standalone model when folded out.
Neither version feels like there's anything missing, and the narrow focus on a single street lends itself perfectly to the book nook design. Add to that a range of unique and colourful minifigures and it's hard to find anything to critique in the LEGO Icons set. – Rachael
8 – 21357 Luxo Jr.

It's no surprise that Pixar and LEGO go so well together – both companies have traditionally created products that favour sharp, angular design because of the nature of their artistic media. Pixar’s mascot, a miniature Luxo lamp, feels like the perfect source material to get the LEGO treatment.

6 – 21358 Minifigure Vending Machine

I wasn’t expecting to utterly and completely fall in love with the build in 21358 Minifigure Vending Machine. There’s no escaping the sheer appeal of the 16 minifigures in this set, covering Castle, Pirates, and LEGO designers alike, but don’t overlook the model itself.
From the mechanism that requires a coin to use to the new capsules and the satisfying noise they make as they exit the machine, 21358 Minifigure Vending Machine is genuinely a LEGO set like no other. Look beyond the excellent minifigures, and this is a LEGO set not to be missed. – Jack
5 – 10358 Transformers: Soundwave

Everything you'd expect from a LEGO Soundwave can be found here, wrapped up in an engaging build experience from start to finish. – Rachael
4 – 72046 Game Boy

We’ve had a couple of larger brick-built Nintendo consoles in recent years, but 72046 Game Boy is the most accurate, satisfying and affordable to date. With multiple new printed pieces, two Game Paks to slot into the rear of the model, the uncannily spot-on sound of the on/off switch clicking into place and three lenticular screens to emulate the look of The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening and Super Mario Land, this is one LEGO set that perfectly scratches that retro gaming itch. – Matt
3 – 75639 The Going Merry Pirate Ship

2025 has been a bountiful year for fans of LEGO pirates. There have been several fun new ships across various themes, but 75639 The Going Merry Pirate Ship is the one that best captures the essence of the classic Pirates theme.
The Straw Hat Pirates’ ship is an excellent recreation of an iconic cartoon vessel, but it’s also exactly the right size to slot in alongside older pirate sets without feeling out of place. The set’s colourful collection of minifigures will feel perfectly at home with any other pirate minifigure lineup. This set works because it’s both a great adaptation of the source material, and fundamentally very LEGO in its execution. – Matthew
2 – 72037 Mario & Standard Kart

I’ve already written extensively about just how good
This is easily the best LEGO Super Mario set to date – even outshining Bowser and the NES, and by a shade the Game Boy – not only for how well it captures every facet of Mario and his kart, but also in the way it comes together. It’s the most fun I’ve had building a LEGO set since Rivendell, and you can’t say fairer than that… – Chris
1 – 10350 Tudor Corner

As a newcomer to the Modular Buildings Collection, I feel welcomed by 10350 Tudor Corner. The familiar architecture that reminds me of local pubs and buildings, as well as the inclusion of a sunflower lanyard, greatly speaks to me, while the colours and architectural style help it to stand out even among other modulars. It’s not often that I can relate to a LEGO set so completely, and it has made me a new collector of these buildings.
My sentiments are shared among the Brick Fanatics staff too, with several of us placing this set at or near the top of our list of nominations. And they’re even echoed by the wider community, with many collectors agreeing that 10350 Tudor Corner is one of the strongest in the line-up to date, wholeheartedly deserving the top spot in our best LEGO sets of 2025 list. – Jack
