You can still find rejected LEGO BrickLink Designer Program models

Only five of the hundreds of proposed submissions are picked for LEGO BrickLink Designer Program sets, but you can still find rejected models.

Not everything proposed for a LEGO BrickLink Designer Program build is approved, as we saw when the finalists were announced for Series 8, leaving 379 models behind, not to become an official build this time.

The bottom of the official webpage for each BrickLink series includes the list of designs not chosen for crowdfunding, but some fans have gone one step further and made the instructions for the designs accessible to everyone.

The Rebrickable community features a fair few budding fan designers who have decided to share the instructions and even the model files for their designs with everyone, rather than keeping them solely on the BrickLink website.

The BrickLink Designer Program platform does not facilitate the sharing of model files and instructions, unlike Rebrickable. You can find many of these builds under the BrickLink Designer Program tag, but many more do not use that tag and can be found by searching on the platform.

You'll need to source the parts for these creations yourself, and some instructions require an additional cost. This is still a great option for anyone who had their hopes set on a specific model in a previous BrickLink Designer Program series that ultimately wasn't picked.

The BrickLink Designer Program otherwise continues with 40 finalists at the time of writing, and some budding fan designers opt to save their submissions and try their luck at a BrickLink set in a future series.
