Five locations suitable for rumoured $300 LEGO Disney set

Five locations suitable for rumoured $300 LEGO Disney set

Rumour has it that a $300 LEGO Disney set is coming and with no solid word on what it might depict, five animated locations need a model.

A recent rumour from Redditor Clay_Bricks states that a $299.99 LEGO Disney direct-to-consumer set, meaning it would be available to purchase from LEGO.com and in LEGO Stores for at least three months before potentially going on limited sale at select third-party retailers, is launching later this year.

While there's some speculation that it might be a Beauty and the Beast castle, it requires an extra pinch of salt on top of that which you should already have for any LEGO rumour. Given that this part isn't even rumoured just yet, there are a few other locations that would be great contenders for a massive LEGO Disney model. From Encanto to another Disney Parks-adjacent build, here are five Disney places that would fit a $300 set.

5 – Casa Madrigal

LEGO Disney 43245 The Magical Madrigal House

Given the popularity that Encanto has seen on streaming since its release, it's not surprising to see the huge 43245 The Magical Madrigal House on shelves since last year, which recreates more of the Madrigal family as mini-dolls. Since Bruno made his minifigure debut in 21352 Magic of Disney though, Encanto minifigures are definitely on the table for the future.

43245 The Magical Madrigal House is currently scheduled to retire at the end of 2025 and should the LEGO Group replace it with a bigger, more expensive recreation of the house with a full cast of Madrigal minifigures (LEGO Ideas' Bruno included), it would make a lot of sense given the popularity of the movie and the recent start of Encanto minifigures.

4 – Elsa's Ice Castle

Similar to Encanto, Frozen has proven to be a hit for Disney time and time again and the LEGO Group has already pursued a bigger Frozen build for an older audience with 43197 The Ice Castle. While there are many other locations the LEGO Group should cover instead of another Frozen model, this ultimately seems to be a more realistic contender given the consistent popularity of Frozen, but whether it demands a $300 model is up for debate.

3 – Tiana's Palace

Sticking to Disney royalty, Tiana from The Princess and the Frog received a debut minifigure in 2023 for the 100th anniversary of Disney, including in 43222 Disney Castle alongside Prince Naveen. Reusing these minifigures would work perfectly in a massive depiction of Tiana's Palace from the finale of the film. Tiana's restaurant would be a stylish build and offer something entirely different for the portfolio with some distinct New Orleans flair.

2 – Sleeping Beauty Castle

LEGO 40720 1024x768

With 43222 Disney Castle currently scheduled to retire this year, it would make sense for the LEGO Group to seek out a replacement build for the iconic castle. Instead of Beauty and the Beast though, inspiration can be taken from Disneyland and 40720 Mini Disney Sleeping Beauty Castle. A recreation of the smaller castle scaled to the £344.99 / $399.99 / €399.99 43222 Disney Castle would pair perfectly with the larger set and allow the LEGO Group to include all manner of exclusive minifigures, mixing movies just as we can see in the 2023 set.

1 – Prince Eric's Castle

Also located in real life at Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom – similar to 43222 Disney Castle – Prince Eric's coastal castle from The Little Mermaid would offer a different kind of castle for the LEGO portfolio, harkening back to the seafront sets of LEGO Pirates but with an increased budget for more detail. New minifigures of Ariel (in human form) and Eric would make sense for such a set too following their mini-doll appearances.
