You can fix the LEGO Marvel X-Mansion with no extra pieces

The LEGO Marvel X-Mansion officially features two broken parts by design, but you can restore the mansion to its former glory with no extra pieces.

It's nearly time to pick up 76294 X-Men: The X-Mansion and as we ramp up to the release of the highly-anticipated LEGO Marvel model, some enthusiasts including Brick Fanatics have the set in hand early, able to analyse every inch of the build and fill you in on all the details.

Ashnflash on YouTube is one such enthusiast, recently commenting on the two broken sections of the set consisting of the wall outside the Danger Room and the lamp post and grate. Thankfully, they've learned that you can fix up both sides of the build only using the pieces in the set.

This is a returning feature from both 76178 Daily Bugle and 76269 Avengers Tower, both of which have battle damage that you can fix using the included elements. Figuring out how to repair them is always one of the first tasks the community sets out to discover though. Now, we know how to repair both broken parts of 76294 X-Men: The X-Mansion

As Ashnflash demonstrates, fixing the left-hand side of the set is easy and you need only remove the transparent elements and fix everything back in place, though this leaves more exposed studs on this section of the street than you'd expect of any modular model.

The left-hand side of the mansion's repair job is a bit more complicated. You'll need to detach much more of the wall than expected before building it back up in the same way as the walls beside it, the pieces for which are all included in the scattered debris.

As they point out, this leaves the rest of the rubble with the Technic pin connection point exposed and still in place. It's still functional without additional elements and resembles a rock, but extra elements can improve its look to blend in with the grass too.

The street on the left side also still has an exposed Technic pin pointing up to pose the Sentinel on, though keeping the Sentinel in place can easily hide this element. Otherwise, the X-Mansion can be repaired without additional pieces, but with some remaining rubble on the left side.

Still, it's good to see the designers maintain this thoughtful feature after battle damage and a similar solution was included in 76178 Daily Bugle and 76269 Avengers Tower. You can pick up 76294 X-Men: The X-Mansion from November 1 as long as you're a LEGO Insiders member. Click here to find out everything you know about the new Marvel model.
