Former LEGO US headquarters site up for sale

The LEGO Group’s purpose built US office buildings in Enfield, Connecticut are up for sale, listed at $2 million.

The former site of the LEGO Group’s US headquarters on Enfield, Connecticut, is up for sale. The property, built specifically for the company in 1995, is listed at $2 million after a year on the market.

While the LEGO Group still has offices in Enfield, the original 24 acre site was vacated around six months ago.

Hartford Business reports that the listed $2 million price is half of what the site is valued at:

A Colliers property listing shows the Taylor Road property features 245 parking spaces, a fitness center, amphitheater, cafe and patio space with outdoor seating. It also comes with a recreational area comprising golf putting and driving stations, soccer goals, a fire pit and volleyball court.

“$2 million is an unbelievable price for a building like that,” Nicholas Morizio said, noting that letting agent Winstanley has received a few “low ball offers” for the property. “Someone will get a very good bargain.”

“The land alone is worth greater than $2 million,” he said. “Worst comes to worst, someone can always buy the building, I hate to say it, knock it down for a flat site to build a quarter-mile square-foot warehouse.”
