The future looks bright for the LEGO Star Wars Razor Crest

LEGO Star Wars 75447 The Razor Crest recreates the ship's new lease of life in the upcoming movie, debuting a new brick-built look.

It's already been confirmed that the Razor Crest will return in The Mandalorian and Grogu, thanks to a glimpse in the trailer. We say return, but presumably Din Djarin has bought a new version of the same ship, rather than piecing back together the very same exploded vessel (that's relatively easy for LEGO ships but much harder for real ones).

With the Razor Crest seemingly Din Djarin and Grogu's main vehicle for the upcoming movie, an updated LEGO Star Wars version felt inevitable – and here it is. 75447 The Razor Crest was revealed earlier today along with a handful of other LEGO Star Wars sets tied to the movie, debuting a familiar yet still fresh brick-based look for the ship.

We're going to compare the most recent iteration to 75292 The Razor Crest, being the closest previous set to 75447 in terms of scale and size.

First off, the colours are brighter in 75447 The Razor Crest than in 75292, in keeping with what appears to be a fresh lick of yellow paint from the short look we get at the hull in the trailer. The paint looks largely to be stickered rather than printed, although the all-yellow parts on the top of the ship really help to distinguish between the two – and break away from LEGO Star Wars' reputation for all-grey builds.

Getting into the nitty gritty, 75447 The Razor Crest has a slightly smaller piece count by about 100 parts. Indeed, there seems to be a general style preference for larger elements in the latest set, rather than building the parts separately. That's most apparent in the thrusters, with smooth, rounded edges throughout rather than the brick-built sections at the front and layers of arched elements you can see in 75292 The Razor Crest.

Indeed, this design choice leaves far fewer exposed studs throughout 75447. The smaller piece count also results in a smaller size overall, with the 2026 version measuring one centimetre shorter in height, six centimetres shorter in length, and four centimetres narrower in width.

That said, the scale and dimensions have stayed fairly faithful. 75447 The Razor Crest sits a little squatter, but it also looks like an easier shape to grip in your hand, lending itself well to play.

In terms of comparing the minifigures and characters, the exact same number is included in both sets, with four minifigures plus Grogu appearing in both. Of course, those aren't the same characters, apart from Din Djarin. Instead of Greef Karga, a Scout Trooper, and IG-11, 75447 The Razor Crest features Colonel Ward, Zeb Orrelios, and an Imperial Remnant Stormtrooper.

Grogu himself features an updated mould for 2026, while Din Djarin's minifigure has been updated to transform from his earlier bounty hunter look to his beskar-improved appearance for his first movie.

Excitingly, Zeb's minifigure features dual-moulded arms, offering a punchy look for the fan-favourite character. There's not a ton to write home about with regard to Ward or the Stormtrooper, but they do seem accurate to their on-screen looks – even if those looks are less interesting than the blue-and-white uniformed Zeb.

Moving onto the interior, both ships feature hinged panels that can all swing out to reveal similarly sparse internal quarters. With the size and scope of these sets more geared towards play than detailed display, any details of the interior are fun extras rather than the main focus of either one of these Razor Crests.

Both, however, include nods to events from their respective inspiration. 75292 The Razor Crest includes a carbonite bounty, in keeping with Din Djarin's role in the earlier seasons, while there's a function for Grogu to apparently access the internal systems of the ship, an event that's hinted at in the trailer for the movie.

Those inclusions help to localise each set for the specific time period they were released for, bringing something unique to each of them in terms of storytelling as well as basic appearances. You can certainly see the scope and progress of the LEGO Star Wars theme over the years, as well as the move towards a more polished, stud-free look for all LEGO Star Wars sets, even ones geared more towards play.

LEGO Star Wars 75447 The Razor Crest is available to pre-order now ahead of its launch on April 26, retailing at £139.99 / $149.99 / €149.99.
