LEGO City 30694 Space Science Mech polybag review

LEGO City Space continues its great run of sets with the 2025 polybag 30694 Space Science Mech.

2024 very much belonged to LEGO City and its deep exploration of Space via a number of excellently-designed sets. 60429 Spaceship and Asteroid Discovery shows how a 4+ set can still appeal to older fans, while 60431 Space Explorer Rover and Alien Life and 60430 Interstellar Spaceship cover land and air between them.

60432 Command Rover and Crane Loader, 60434 Space Base and Rocket Launchpad and 60433 Modular Space Station, meanwhile, all introduce and build on the modularity that underpins the best LEGO sets. In short: LEGO City has this year given fans waiting for an unlicensed LEGO Space theme almost everything they could hope for.

We say 'almost' because the two sets coming in 2025 plug two further gaps you may not have even realised were left to be filled. 60446 Modular Galactic Spaceship comes in with a larger (and equally customisable) spaceship to take your growing collection of astronauts ever deeper into the galaxy, and 30694 Space Science Mech offers an excellent companion piece to the likes of 60428 Space Construction Mech and in fact any set in the collection you care to pair it with.

This little walker is fully articulate thanks to ball joints at the hips, shoulders and ankles, with clip-and-bar joints at the elbows and claws. With a battery pack at the back and an operating screen at the front for the pilot, 30694 Space Science Mech is a fun and very hands-on little walker no doubt ready to be bought in vast quantities.
