75432 V-19 Torrent Starfighter is like a lot of LEGO Star Wars sets at the moment – a good thing in a small(er) package.
It's been 17 years since we first and last saw a minifigure-scale(ish) V-19 Torrent released as a LEGO Star Wars set. A lot has changed since then, and for 2025 we have what is best described as a slightly smaller but elegantly updated model that looks to offset necessary compromises with quality design and a decent trio of exclusive minifigures.

As you would hope with any LEGO Star Wars set worth its salt, 75432 V-19 Torrent Starfighter brings the detail, the finish and the function, particularly in capturing the trio of fold-down wings that make the V-19 such a unique ship in design and, inevitably, in LEGO build too.
This is an interesting LEGO Star Wars model to put together. It’s compact but thorough and, whilst relatively small, most identifiable through those different moving parts that integrate into a small central body. And where it matters, 75432 V-19 Torrent Starfighter comes together in a successful way, thanks primarily to the smoothness and hands-on fun of those foldable wings – both the two side wings and the central fin, which in either upright or swung-down position clips into the central body for excellent stability for, you know, swooshing.

For how well the ship captures this central identifying trait of the V-19 we have a credible final model, and it is one that you put together in a way that isn’t overly complicated, nor that uninteresting. Whilst mirroring the two side wings is a little repetitive, it is not so in any way that diminishes the overall experience here – building this set is otherwise interesting and unlike much else in recent years, given how distinctive the design of this ship is and for how long it has been since we last saw a LEGO V-19.
That was 2008 and 7674 V-19 Torrent, which for 471 pieces (96 pieces fewer, and two minifigures fewer) gave us a physically larger version of the ship. The central body was bigger and the three wings were each longer. Thanks to larger pieces and a less-detailed design, this first go at the V-19 still matches the on-screen size and scale of the vehicle seen in The Clone Wars, where today’s 75432 is just all-round a chonkier, stockier version.
That makes for a fascinating comparison to consider because there’s nothing in between the two, and the impact and influence of 17 years of design development, economic changes and stakeholders involved is so very clear to see here. It’s a comparison that offers up an honest assessment too – this is the best we can get in 2025 and it makes for a version of a ship that is so different from what we had over a decade and a half ago.
And different isn’t better in every way, and different isn’t necessarily worse. Granted, the size is a little frustrating, but there are other sets where this approach of downsizing is hurting, and we can’t say that’s wholly the case here. It certainly makes for a more modest, shelf-friendly version of the V-19, but there’s only one niggle that we do have with the model and, if it were fixable, the size would be even less noticeable to anyone otherwise looking to take issue – and that is that ideally the cockpit should be positioned a brick or two further back. Only a small complaint, but look at images of the on-screen ship and tell us you don’t see it.
That small thing aside, 75432 V-19 Torrent Starfighter is packed with interesting aspects to its design that make it a very hands-on model (in part because flight mode is very cleverly not a mode where you can just put it down) and a great example of where the LEGO Star Wars design team really enjoy providing details and techniques that work not only for the accuracy side of things that all LEGO Star Wars sets are marked against, but also for the LEGO experience side of things that is sometimes overlooked in review (and that very few LEGO Star Wars sets ever fall short of).

This V-19 Torrent is also topped off with three excellent and exclusive minifigures, from the upgraded pilot design with new helmet mould to a completely new Clone Wars-era General Obi-Wan Kenobi design and probably the best Asajj Ventress minifigure we have had, for the first time in her purple The Clone Wars Season 3 outfit. The design for her head print is particularly nice, whilst the overall appearance strikes a quite unique balance between the cartoonish design of The Clone Wars and what we are otherwise used to in LEGO minifigure form.
Our honest opinion: It’s smaller and more modest, but otherwise bears all the hallmarks of quality LEGO Star Wars design in 2025. The minifigures seal the deal on this one.
