If a recently rumoured LEGO DC Arkham Asylum set is indeed on the way in 2025, here are 10 minifigure inmates we want to see included.
A recent rumour suggested that LEGO DC fans may be getting a pricey D2C Batman build next summer in the shape of 76300 Arkham Asylum. The model is reportedly going to cost $400 and would be the fourth such set to be based on the Gotham location used to house criminally insane super villains.
While no additional details have been revealed so fear regarding 76300 Arkham Asylum, we’d expect a build of that size to include a decent number of comic book characters. With that in mind, here’s our take on which minifigures (other than Batman) we want to see in such a potential LEGO DC set.
10 – The Joker
As with the Dark Knight himself, fans have been given multiple versions of the Clown Prince of Crime over the years, so a new and updated version of The Joker in 76300 Arkham Asylum is a given. The character most recently popped up in
9 – Harley Quinn
The same also applies to The Joker’s sweetheart, who appeared in this year’s 76274 Batman with the Batmobile vs Harley Quinn and Mr. Freeze (also retiring later this year). The D2C model could be an opportunity for the character to receive a revised look that’s closer to her current comic book roots.
8 – Mad Hatter
The Mad Hatter has yet to appear in minifigure form, despite being an antagonist in a number of LEGO DC video games. Jervis Tetch uses a series of trick hats and hypnotism to attack his enemies and the character made a brief appearance on a sticker in the soon-to-retire 76271 Batman: The Animated Series Gotham City.
7 – Clayface
Despite brick-built versions of Clayface having been included in two LEGO DC sets to date, we’ve yet to receive a minifigure version of the walking pile of mud. However, such an iteration of the character did appear in the LEGO DC Super Villains video game, so we’re holding out hope for a physical iteration next year.
6 – Scarecrow
The last comic book-based version of the Scarecrow arrived as part of 70913 Scarecrow Fearful Face-off in 2017. A more grounded take on the character then appeared in 76239 Batmobile Tumbler: Scarecrow Showdown in 2021, so Jonathan Crane’s alter ego is well-overdue an upgrade.
5 – Poison Ivy
Despite being included in 70912 Arkham Asylum in 2017, that minifigure of Poison Ivy wore an orange jump suit. Those looking for a much more accurate rendition of the plant-controlling super villain need to go back to 2019’s 76117 Batman Mech vs. Poison Ivy Mech in order to add Pamela Isley to their collections.
4 – Hugo Strange
With only one minifigure of Professor Huge Strange having been part of the 71020 The LEGO Batman Movie Series 2 CMF line-up in 2018, the character would be an ideal fit for 76300 Arkham Asylum. The scientist and criminal mastermind has both worked for and been an inmate of the Gotham institution and even once posed as the Dark Knight himself.
3 – Two-Face
The last version of Two-Face to be released was included in 76122 Batcave Clayface Invasion in 2019. The timing would seem right therefore to bring back Harvey Dent’s twisted other self in next year’s rumoured LEGO DC set, complete with split face print and dual-moulded hair piece.
2 – Tweedledum and Tweedledee
Okay, so this is more of a twofer choice, but offering fans a pair of identical minifigures of these twin villains would make a lot of sense. The dim-witted cousins have yet to be immortalised in minifigure form, so adding them to 76300 Arkham Asylum should be a no-brainer.
1 – Ventriloquist
Another DC villain that hasn’t appeared as a physical minifigure to date is the Ventriloquist. Glimpsed on a sticker in 76271 Batman: The Animated Series Gotham City, the Ventriloquist is known for carrying a dummy called Scarface, although it’s anyone’s guess as to which is character is in control of the other.
