LEGO Batman verified on Steam Deck despite PC requirements

How well it performs remains to be seen

LEGO Batman verified on Steam Deck despite PC requirements

Valve has certified that LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight will be playable on Steam Deck when it hits consoles and PC next week – despite the game’s troubling minimum system requirements.

LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight now has the Steam Deck Verified badge on the official Steam store, which confirms that in-game text is legible, the default configuration and graphical settings work as expected, and the game won’t default to external controllers. The verification requirements on the Steam store suggest that Verified titles must also hit a ‘playable framerate’. And that’s where things get sticky.

Concerns have already been raised over the new TT Games release’s minimum system requirements on PC, which imply that the game will only be able to reach 30 frames per second using frame generation. But that’s really only recommended for boosting performance when you’ve already got a stable and relatively high frame rate – it’s not intended to help reach the baseline of smooth gameplay in the first place.

Without getting buried in technical jargon, the long and short of it is that the minimum PC requirements don’t inspire confidence in how well Legacy of the Dark Knight may run on the Steam Deck. So you’ve got two potential outcomes: the spec sheet is no longer accurate, or the game isn’t going to run as well on Valve’s handheld as you’d hope given its Verified badge.

It all remains to be seen how well LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight will actually run on any of the platforms it’s launching on come next week, especially with reviews yet to be published. If you’ve pre-ordered the Deluxe Edition, though, you’ve only got a few days to go until you can find out for yourself: that version of the game grants early access on May 19, 2026.

The full launch will take place on May 22 across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series S/X, PC and Steam Deck. A Nintendo Switch 2 version will follow later this year, but a release date has yet to be confirmed.
