A fan designer has mashed up a harmless LEGO Botanicals set with a frightening Stranger Things creature to create a brick-built Demogorchid.
The LEGO Botanicals theme is known for its calm and mindful builds, models that are meant to be soothing sets to assemble. While that’s usually the case, one talented fan designed has taken 10311 Orchid even further, turning it into a plant-based nightmare by way of Stranger Things.
Jayfa’s The Demogorchid is a custom build that features a selection of elements from the LEGO Botanicals set, which have been used to create a terrifying flora monster that would look right at home in Hawkins, Indiana.
Former Australian LEGO MASTERS winner Joss Ivanwood’s model can be assembled using a combination of parts from 10311 Orchid, additional pieces obtained via BrickLink and instructions available to purchase from Rebrickable for $23 AUD.
The LEGO crossover you weren’t expecting is essentially a brick-built figure that also just happens to incorporate a number of LEGO Bionicle parts. The Demogorchid does have some poseability, but it’s noted that the bizarre creation is primarily intended to be more of a display model when completed.
While 10311 Orchid was used as the base build for The Demogorchid, there's no reason to assume that other LEGO Botanicals sets could also be incorporated into the design by some talented fans, allowing for even more bizarre potential builds.
Fans of the Upside Down can look forward to 11370 Stranger Things: The Creel House launching on January 1, 2026 for Insiders, along with 40891 Stranger Things: WSQK Radio Station as a GWP (while stocks last). The larger LEGO Icons set will be priced at £249.99 / $299.99 / €279.99.
