LEGO Insiders and BrickLink accounts are set to merge in a few months' time, merging data from across the two platforms.
In the year BrickLink turns 25, LEGO Insiders accounts will be integrated into BrickLink from autumn 2025. This means that there will be a single sign-in experience across both LEGO.com and BrickLink.com, in a similar way to how your LEGO Insiders account works on the LEGO Ideas platform.
If you already have a LEGO Insiders account, you'll soon be able to merge it with an existing BrickLink one. If you don't, you'll need to make one in order to access BrickLink features like buying, selling, and making a wishlist. Any features that currently require you to be logged in will require a LEGO account.
This will go on to affect ID card pictures, usernames, store names, and the privacy policy and terms and conditions. Revised terms and conditions will be emailed out to account holders in due course.
In terms of specific changes to expect, all custom ID card pics will be removed just before the integration and replaced with standard images. There will also be the chance to create new profile images, known as avatars, that feature LEGO minifigures and background colours, including updated versions of classic BrickLink profile pictures.
Eventually, your LEGO Account nickname will also become your public username on BrickLink. Although the date of this has not been confirmed, it will happen in the months after the integration in the autumn. To reserve your current BrickLink username now, you can already change your LEGO account nickname to make the process smoother, which BrickLink recommends doing as soon as possible.
It's worth noting that any current or new BrickLink username or store name will need to meet the guidelines for LEGO Account nicknames, which include avoiding any hate speech, profanity, or reference to third-party IP or LEGO franchises, among other points.
When changing your nickname in the 'Account settings' section on LEGO.com when logged in, your username will automatically be checked to make sure it aligns with the guidelines.
The first step that users will see in the coming months will be new terms and conditions via email, and then the integration in the autumn, followed by the change in BrickLink usernames to match LEGO nicknames. At the moment, you don't need to do anything other than change your LEGO account nickname, if you choose to.
