The LEGO City range of sets releasing in January 2025 includes many, many vehicles – here’s a look at them all.
Alongside an excellent wave of Formula 1-themed sets that really build out the world of that sport at a time when it’s never been more exciting, and with a couple of fine additions to the LEGO City Space subtheme, 2025 also sees a plethora of vehicles releasing in the City line, ranging in size, practicality, age range and more. Here’s a rundown of everything coming out in the new year.
LEGO City 60447 Off-Road 4x4 Mountain Truck
Release: January 1, 2025 Price: £17.99 / $19.99 / €19.99 Pieces: 221 Minifigures: 1 LEGO:
Offering up one of the more immersive and interesting builds from this collection of LEGO City vehicles releasing in January 2025 is 60447 Off-Road 4x4 Mountain Truck. While there’s only the one minifigure included, the truck is a convincing and interesting build with plenty of bits and pieces to play around with such as the cable at the front, a space in the back with sleeping bag and a roof that the explorer can sit on and plot his journey with his map.
LEGO City 60448 Red Sports Car
Release: January 1, 2025 Price: £8.99 / $9.99 / €9.99 Pieces: 109 Minifigures: 1 LEGO:
A cheap and cheerful roadster in bright red with large windscreen and some of those Speed Champions bodywork pieces to edge out the back of the vehicle, there’s a lot worked into 60448 Red Sports Car that gives it good value at under £10. With the minifigure on his phone too, there's plenty of reason for any of your 3,000 LEGO City police officers to pull this flashy car over for a licence check.
LEGO City 60450 Yellow Construction Wheel Loader
Release: January 1, 2025 Price: £12.99 / $14.99 / €14.99 Pieces: 81 Minifigures: 2 LEGO:
Following up on a couple of massive and very impressive construction sets from 2024 is 60450 Yellow Construction Wheel Loader, which serves as the perfect companion piece to 60409 Yellow Mobile Construction Crane and 60420 Yellow Construction Excavator. With two minifigure construction workers and some bits and pieces to mark out a little work area, 60450 works just great and offers credible value too.
LEGO City 60451 Emergency Ambulance
Release: January 1, 2025 Price: £17.99 / $19.99 / €19.99 Pieces: 184 Minifigures: 2 LEGO:
After decades of barely any LEGO ambulances, the LEGO healthcare system continues to add to the fleet with 60451 Emergency Ambulance. It’s only a 5+ set and the build very much reflects that, but such is the angular assembly of these vehicles that it is still very effective in creating a credible ambulance, complete with a detachable medical unit on the back.
LEGO City 60452 Donut Truck
Release: January 1, 2025 Price: £17.99 / $19.99 / €19.99 Pieces: 196 Minifigures: 2 LEGO:
60452 Donut Truck is surprisingly effective in achieving that old-style van design with few parts, coming in at a 5+ age recommendation that does juniorise a lot of aspects to the set. That said, there’s a story being told here between the van, its proprietor and their one customer. The stall to the van is removable too, which gives good playability options if you don’t necessarily want a vehicle illegally parked in your LEGO city.
LEGO City 60453 Lifeguard Beach Rescue Truck
Release: January 1, 2025 Price: £19.99 / $24.99 / €24.99 Pieces: 214 Minifigures: 2 LEGO:
You get a 4x4, you get a 4x4, and you get a 4x4. LEGO City does seem to be again going all in on the 4x4-inspired vehicles this January, with 60453 Lifeguard Beach Rescue Truck a prime example. It’s different enough to the others and includes some great design and ideas that helps really theme it to driving across the beaches saving unaware surfers from sharks. There's plenty of space in the back of the truck too – pretty fun overall.
LEGO City 60454 Holiday Adventure Camper Van
Release: January 1, 2025 Price: £24.99 / $29.99 / €29.99 Pieces: 385 Minifigures: 2 (plus a baby) LEGO:
60454 Holiday Adventure Camper Van is one of the most detailed builds of this selection of vehicles releasing in January, offering a fully-realised interior to match a thematically-appropriate exterior design. For anyone after a nice country retreat for their minifigures or a practical vehicle to survive the apocalypse in, this is the one.
LEGO City 60458 Pizza vs. Fire Truck Race Car Pack
Release: January 1, 2025 Price: £8.99 / $9.99 / €9.99 Pieces: 70 Minifigures: 2 LEGO:
Basing little race karts on particular themes and characters from within LEGO City is a neat idea that translates well at the lower end of the budget, and 60458 Pizza vs. Fire Truck Race Car Pack is a great example. The simpler fire truck makes sense, but it’s the pizza-themed racer that showcases the wider potential and fun of these little karts, should the sub-collection continue.
LEGO City 60459 Airplane vs. Hospital Bed Race Car Pack
Release: January 1, 2025 Price: £8.99 / $9.99 / €9.99 Pieces: 70 Minifigures: 2 LEGO:
This sub-collection of race karts works best at the cheap, easy-access level like
LEGO City 60460 No Limits: Race Car Ramp Track
Release: January 1, 2025 Price: £44.99 / $49.99 / €49.99 Pieces: 436 Minifigures: 4 LEGO:
The little themed karts are cute and funny in design, but we’re not yet entirely sold on the concept to consider a set like
LEGO City 60461 Red Farm Tractor with Trailer & Sheep
Release: January 1, 2025 Price: £17.99 / $19.99 / €19.99 Pieces: 116 Minifigures: 2 LEGO:
One for parts and animals,
LEGO City 60462 Helicopter, Fire Truck & Submarine Remix
Release: January 1, 2025 Price: £54.99 / $59.99 / €59.99 Pieces: 874 Minifigures: 4 LEGO:
Certainly the most interesting idea to come out of the LEGO City line-up for January 2025 is
It’s a first go at modularity for younger builders and it’s an easy and very durable play feature that offers a twist on the convention for anyone who may already have hands-on experience with any of these vehicles and want something different. If it’s your first fire truck, submarine or helicopter, go elsewhere because there’s limited play to each vehicle as their own thing, and at the same time the price is not the cheapest here – but both of these aspects are explained away by the absolutely solid builds that each of the three models offers. There’s nothing hollow on the inside of any of them, primarily so they can be ripped apart and smashed back together again multiple times.
LEGO City 60463 Fire Ladder Truck
Release: January 1, 2025 Price: £17.99 / $19.99 / €19.99 Pieces: 82 Minifigures: 2 LEGO:
The boxy nature, low piece count and 4+ age recommendation explains the thinking behind 60463 Fire Ladder Truck. With seating inside for both fire crew and a large ladder you can angle up and down, this is a great introduction to LEGO for the youngest builders. Don’t think too hard about the practicality of trying to put out the floor-based fire with a raised ladder, though.
LEGO City 60472 Scrapyard with Cars
Release: January 1, 2025 Price: £69.99 / $79.99 / €79.99 Pieces: 871 Minifigures: 4 LEGO:

Pushing out a compacted version of what’s left takes these disregarded vehicles to a perfect conclusion and in such a way that you’ll want to do it again and again, and perhaps try out some other LEGO City vehicles too.
There’s a lot going on here across an interesting and detailed build where taking story in a new direction really gives LEGO City that freshness that it thrives best on.
Our honest opinion: LEGO City’s wider range of sets caters for all ages and interests, and that means there are some for older builders too – starting with our stand-out favourite of
