There's definitely plenty of space inside 10356 USS Enterprise NCC-1701-D’s saucer section for a secret microscale bridge, so why isn’t there one?
Star Trek fans will be able to beam up 10356 USS Enterprise NCC-1701-D later this month, when the LEGO Icons set warps into view as this year’s major Black Friday release. The massive model has been long-awaited and is highly-anticipated (despite its hefty $400 price tag) and even comes with its own desirable GWP.
While 10356 USS Enterprise NCC-1701-D will be a satisfying build for most, some fans may be slightly disappointed to discover that the set isn't minifigure compatible and that there's little microscale content tucked away within the LEGO Icons build, especially in its huge saucer section.

This detachable part of 10356 USS Enterprise NCC-1701-D does have one secret hidden away inside the top of it though, in the shape of a misspelled dedication plaque, but it feels as if a microscale bridge could have easily been added in there too.
It’s worth noting that a number of midi-scale LEGO Star Wars sets have boasted tiny versions of familiar characters constructed from 1x1 round plates in recent years. Those have included Darth Vader and a band of bounty hunters in 75356 Executor Super Star Destroyer, Han Solo, Princess Leia, Chewbacca, C-3PO and R2-D2 in 75375 Millennium Falcon and Admiral Ackbar, Ahsoka Tano and Hera Syndulla in 75405 Home One Starcruiser.
Despite there being plenty of room inside the saucer section of 10356 USS Enterprise NCC-1701-D for a microscale bridge, the LEGO Icons design team hasn't added one, which may well leave some builders feeling a little let down with the Federation’s first-ever brick-built starship.
However, that’s a very minor omission in what is otherwise a very impressive LEGO Star Trek set. In the meantime, fans will just have to hope for more potential future builds based on the near 60 year-old sci-fi franchise at some point, although none have been confirmed so far.

10356 USS Enterprise NCC-1701-D is priced at £349.99 in the UK, $399.99 in the US and €379.99 in Europe and launches on November 28, 2025. Insiders members can also get their hands on a free 40768 Type-15 Shuttlepod GWP from November 28 to December 1 with all purchases of the 3,600-piece LEGO Icons model, while stocks last.
