LEGO Fortnite's minifigures are stealing the show this summer

LEGO Fortnite isn't just including any old minifigures, they're including some stellar editions, even for people who've never played the games.

Four LEGO Fortnite sets have been revealed for the summer and, unlike the first wave from last year, every single set will feature minifigures. Split across June and August, the four sets feature nine different minifigures between them, eight of which are new to the theme.

The details are incredibly true to the in-game counterparts but are also colourful enough to appeal to non-Fortnite players. Here's a closer look at them all in turn, from head to toe.

Back to basics

LEGO Star Wars 77075 Peely Sparkplugs Camp

77075 Peely & Sparkplug's Camp returns to the very first experience for many LEGO Fortnite players and, as such, offers two 'back to basics' minifigures. That's not to say that basic means boring, however.

The Peely minifigure is a plain version of the banana character, which we already had in his Adventure Peely design in the first wave. He's joined by Sparkplug, a character that can be invited to join your village in-game. While both minifigures are fairly simple, the detailed torso and leg prints on Sparkplug are very accurate to the digital appearance and offer an excellent base for LEGO Fortnite real-world play.

A new look for Peely

LEGO Fortnite 77077 Klombo

That's right: there's now not one, not two, but three variations of Peely. 77077 Klombo features Island Adventure Peely, complete with the game-accurate printing for his face and body paint, debuted in the Tropical Treasures LEGO Pass. This lays an exciting precedent where the LEGO Group is not shy about returning to the same character multiple times, even for relatively obscure variants like Outfits reserved for a particular Pass.

There's also Oro, who can join Peely on Klombo's back for both play and display. The gold head accessory and torso, with matching gold hands and accents on the legs, make Oro an eye-catching addition to the line-up. Special mention has to go to that gold-printed head element, too.

A new look for Peely

LEGO Fortnite 77076 minifigures 1024x451

The set with the most minifigures is 77076 Durrr Burger Restaurant, complete with Beef Boss himself. That burger head element is a standout for the entire theme, not least because it comes with a matching buildable burger accessory. Beach Bomber and Grimey also make their debuts, packing in some cool prints in Grimey's head element and Beach Bomber's raindow baseball cap.

Mecha Team Leader

Mecha Team Leader is a tricky character to capture, with so many different elements going on, but somehow the LEGO Group nails both at mech and minifigure scale. The unique head element and arm printing (hard to see in pictures but definitely there) make this another highlight of the whole theme, complete with different coloured legs for a design detailed enough to match mecha's status as an Epic Outfit in the video games.
