LEGO Ideas Build What Your Avatar Needs winners announced

The winners of a recent LEGO Ideas Build What Your Avatar Needs challenge have been revealed, along with their successful gaming designs.

The LEGO Ideas team launched yet another fun challenge back in September, asking fan designers to come up with their own video game-inspired creations. The Build What Your Avatar Needs contest was looking for models based on unique vehicles, fantasy-fuelled training arenas and other concepts.

Following an initial submission period that resulted in a whopping 221 brick-built designs, the challenge moved to its fan vote, which has now ended. For those patiently waiting, the contest's Grand Prize winner has finally been announced, along with four lucky runners-up.

Claiming the top spot is WonderBuilder with Chest of Glory, a classic LEGO Castle-based set that folds open to reveal an impressive interior. Inside are multiple rooms with flaming torches, a castle backdrop and a Lion Knight minifigure with sword and shield.

Chest of Glory nabs the LEGO Ideas Grand Prize, walking away with a treasure trove of gaming goodies in the shape of 21265 The Crafting Table, 72037 Mario & Standard Kart, 77006 Team Sonic Command Truck, 77057 Creative Houses: Seasons of Fun and 77078 Mecha Team Leader.

In the runner-up position are 8-Bit Breakout! by Gummybrickss, 3 Eyed Walking Castle Mammoth Reinforcement Army by StrawberrySubmarine, The Enchanted World of Preparation from Carrot guy and Brickcat-94 with Nautilus – Ultimate Deep Sea Exploration Mission.

The remaining builds that managed to make it all the way through the Build What Your Avatar Needs challenge will each receive 21276 The Creeper, 77000 Shadow the Hedgehog, 77076 Durrr Burger Restaurant, 71426 Piranha Plant and 77052 K.K.’s Concert at the Plaza.

Still to come from LEGO Ideas will be the reveal of how many fans designs have been submitted for the When Midnight Strikes challenge, with the closing date for the contest looming on November 12, 2025.
