LEGO Ideas review builds to 70 projects thanks to Great Sphinx

The latest addition to the first LEGO Ideas review of 2026 heads back to Ancient Egypt with an impressive Great Sphinx of Giza model.

The first LEGO Ideas review of 2026 has now accumulated 70 fan-made projects, with each submission managing to have racked up 10K supporters. Tipping the scales is Diorama of the Great Sphinx of Giza from Xam81, a detailed recreation of the historical location and one the model’s own designer admits to being a follow up to 2022’s 21058 Great Pyramid of Giza.

Intended to capture the atmosphere of the majestic Giza Plateau, the LEGO Ideas creation features a desert landscape that includes sand dunes, rock formations and a flowing section of the Nile River with green vegetation along its riverbanks.

Diorama of the Great Sphinx of Giza boasts plenty of attention to detail, with tiny archaeological remains scattered across the desert and subtle remains of the Sphinx’s tail to be found behind the iconic monument.

In addition, the LEGO Ideas submission also includes a microscale steamship that can be spotted sailing along the Nile River, built from just 18 pieces, a tiny camel with Bedouin rider and a small-scale version of the Sphinx as an extra side build.

Only time will tell if Diorama of the Great Sphinx of Giza has the staying power to ultimately become a physical set, but we’ll find out later this year when the results of the first LEGO Ideas review of 2026 will be officially revealed.
