The latest fan-made LEGO Ideas submission to successfully pick up 10,000 supporters is the eye-catching Lisbon Tram (Elétrico 28).
The LEGO Ideas 10K club recently witnessed its 20th addition in the form of Wednesday: The Room and the Balcony, but that list has now grown again. The latest fan-made model to have drummed up enough support to be considered as a future set is Ezequiel Alabaca’s Lisbon Tram (Elétrico 28).
This is the second time that the designer has put forward his creation as a potential LEGO Ideas build, with a few subtle tweaks finally giving the vintage streetcar scene a spot in front of the judging panel. Lisbon Tram (Elétrico 28) is based on the Portuguese city’s iconic public transport system, with this particular tram known for traversing its many main avenues.
Lisbon Tram (Elétrico 28) consists of a 1553-piece pavement section and the 688-piece tram. The latter runs on standard LEGO rails and features a removable roof, allowing access to a detailed interior, and opening right-side doors for easy passenger access.
On top of the tram is an articulated pantograph and the trolley pole, both of which can adjusted. Inside are 10 seats for passengers, handles and handrails, and a driver’s section. The pavement area includes a covered tram stop, street lamp, waste basket, street vendor’s cart, bench and more.
In addition, Lisbon Tram (Elétrico 28) also comes with a grand total of 11 minifigures with a driver (or guarda-freio), chestnut seller, pickpocket and eight passengers with which to populate the set.
We’ll find out if Lisbon Tram (Elétrico 28) makes the grade later this year, when the successful submissions from the current review stage will be revealed.
