There are all kinds of new pieces and recoloured elements included with next month’s LEGO 77984 Jurassic Park Jeep Wrangler.
This week’s LEGO Jurassic World reveals included 77984 Jurassic Park Jeep Wrangler, the first-ever large-scale 18+ recreation of the iconic movie ride. To achieve the authentic look of the vehicle, the set’s designer was able to utilise a number of interesting new pieces, as well as some recoloured elements.
In an interview with Tiago Catarino, Senior Model Designer Henrik Rubin Saaby discussed the parts usage in 77984 Jurassic Park Jeep Wrangler and what fans can expect from the building experience once they get their hands on the LEGO Jurassic World set.

“I love to use elements in another way than they were thought about,” said Henrik, referring to four white minifigure handbags being utilised for 77984 Jurassic Park Jeep Wrangler’s roof lights. “The lights on this car are really a square roundish [shape], then I thought the handbag was kind of spot on.”
Other clever repurposing of parts on the LEGO Jurassic World model show up in the shape of LEGO Harry Potter wands for the car’s windscreen wipers and a pair of black handcuffs as a wire connecting a flashlight accessory to its battery.

“There’s a textile here we have and it’s something we made for this one,” explained Henrik when discussing the vehicle’s tan cloth roof. “It’s easily removable and black on the inside, so you can turn it around."
Other new elements in 77984 Jurassic Park Jeep Wrangler include a 1x2 cheese slope with printed dashboard details, a grey corner cheese slope near the grill, a black 8x8 ring found on the set's display stand and a 4x8 plate in black and grey, used for the car’s bonnet and information plaque.
What’s more there are at least 22 recoloured pieces within the LEGO Jurassic World set that may be handy for future builds, such as five different tan elements on the interior floor, red wedge tiles on the sides of the Jeep and Dennis Nedry’s yellow hood.
Speaking of the untrustworthy computer programmer, this is only the second-ever minifigure of the character we’ve received to date, with a previous version having been included in both 2019’s 75936 Jurassic Park T. rex Rampage and 2023’s 76958 Dilophosaurus Ambush.
“There’s Nedry with a new torso decoration and face,” Henrik elaborated. “The hood has only been out in red and white and he has a yellow raincoat. He has the Barbasol can he had before, but this time he also has a stick to lure the dinosaur away like a dog.

“You’re also getting his wig, if you want to have that instead of the raincoat, then you can place the hood [behind the] info plate of the Jeep.”
77984 Jurassic Park Jeep Wrangler will be released on May 7, 2026 priced at £179.99 in the UK, $199.99 in the US and €199.99 in Europe.
