WATCH: LEGO 10305 Lion Knights’ Castle’s ‘impossible’ new feature

Did you know? The newly-revealed LEGO ICONS 10305 Lion Knights’ Castle includes what was once deemed to be an ‘impossible’ feature.

Launching next month to celebrate the LEGO Group’s 90th anniversary, the 4,514-piece homage to the Castle theme of old (ye olde Castle theme, let’s say) is the biggest medieval set to date, incorporating all kinds of references to ‘80s and ‘90s models, minifigures and Castle factions. But while it’s packed with nostalgia, it’s also surprisingly forward-thinking.

That’s through one feature in particular, which has never been attempted before in a LEGO Castle set – and which the design team initially thought would be ‘impossible’ to achieve even here (as Milan Madge explained to Brickset), despite the enormous budget allocated to 10305 Lion Knights’ Castle. They cracked it eventually, though, and it’s front and centre in the final model.

We’ll stop teasing what exactly that feature is and just direct you to our latest YouTube short below, which reveals all. If this is the kind of content you’re into, head over to our YouTube channel when you’ve finished watching and hit subscribe.

If you prefer vertical video to filter through to your brain through TikTok, good news: we’re over there, too. (Brick Fanatics is everywhere.) Find out what feature we’re talking about in 10305 Lion Knights’ Castle by hitting play on the clip below, then follow us on TikTok for more.

10305 Lion Knights’ Castle launches on August 1 for £344.99 / $399.99 / €399.99. Keep an eye on Brick Fanatics for our review of the formidable fortress in the weeks to come.
