LEGO Pokémon Kanto Badges GWP drama is somehow still unfolding

Multiple LEGO Pokémon shoppers are reporting never receiving 40892 Kanto Region Badge Collection when they should have.

LEGO Pokémon 40892 Kanto Region Badge Collection has been plagued with controversy since the LEGO Group made the unusual decision to have pre-orders for 72153 Venusaur, Charizard and Blastoise qualify for the GWP. After phases of going in and out of stock, now that the qualifying period for the free gift is over, you'd think the drama would end there.

However, you'd be wrong, as reviews for 72153 Venusaur, Charizard and Blastoise are now trickling through on LEGO.com, with several customers complaining that they didn't ever receive the GWP, despite checking out with it during the qualifying period.

"An already expensive set with no minifigures, I didn't even receive the gift-with-purchase when bought, even though It was in my cart," wrote one customer. "Terrible customer service from this company, as someone who has spent the last decade in retail. I would never charge this price for the product and then give such a low level of service in return…."

"Ordered this set due to the Kanto and Restaurant free gifts," wrote another, accompanied with a screenshot of a basket including both GWPs. "I only received the main 700 dollar set. No response from email or tried calling and have been on hold for two hours multiple times. I run a business and this is unimaginable that you would advertise and then not deliver, then not respond. Shame on you LEGO. Very disappointed."

There are several more reviews with similar stories. While it's not clear in some cases whether some of this number may have inadvertently checked out during a period when 40892 Kanto Region Badge Collection was out of stock or not available, at least a few claim that their order should have included the Pokémon LEGO GWP.

A notice on the LEGO Group's Customer Service page does note that responses may be delayed at the moment, stating: "We’re really busy helping lots of LEGO customers at the moment and it’s taking us longer than usual to reply to emails. We’ll get back to you as soon as possible!"

This could account for why some customers have not yet heard back from the LEGO Group about the seemingly missing GWPs.
