LEGO Project Hail Mary set rumoured for early 2026

Another LEGO Icons set is rumoured for next year, possibly following in the Dune model’s footsteps with an homage to Project Hail Mary.

Instagram user ac_bricks_03 states that LEGO Icons 11389 Project Hail Mary is to launch in March 2026 with two figures and 826 pieces. It’s claimed that the set would cost between $90 and $100.

Project Hail Mary is also the name of a movie coming out on March 20, 2026, from Amazon MGM Studios. It’s based on the 2021 Andy Weir novel and features teacher-turned-astronaut Ryland Grace, who is sent into space to try and determine why the sun is dying and stop an extinction event alone.

It wouldn’t be the first time that LEGO Icons has delved into a science fiction movie based on a book, starting with 10327 Dune Atreides Royal Ornithopter in 2024. This would still be an uncommon move for the LEGO Group to make.

The rumoured 2026 model is stated to feature far fewer minifigures than the Dune build, with two figures instead of the eight that appear in the Ornithopter. It’s accordingly believed to be smaller and more affordable, including 826 pieces for at most $100 instead of 1,369 elements for $164.99.

11389 Project Hail Mary remains a rumour at the time of writing and should be taken with a pinch of salt until an official announcement is made. Keep track of everything confirmed and rumoured for 2026 on our dedicated page.
