At launch, however, it was only possible to order a maximum of five copies of the set from LEGO.com in the US, thanks to the per-household limits imposed by the LEGO Group to manage inventory levels. It’s even worse in the UK, where each customer can purchase up to three copies – leaving you with the option of either three smaller Elvis portraits, or one larger Elvis image.

But what if you’re the kind of diehard fan who’s prepared to splash the cash to go full LEGO Elvis, building and displaying all of the set’s potential images at once? What for you, that most niche of audiences, when the LEGO Group is preventing you from realising the full potential of its own products? So asked Lori Perez on Twitter earlier this week.
“Your company just lost a very good customer,” Lori tweeted, tagging the LEGO Group’s official Twitter account. “You created [an] Elvis design that needs six boxes to complete both versions, but I can only buy five online. Customer service is terrible. Need a new hobby.” She then capped her tweet with the hashtag #nomorelego.
While her complaint provoked criticism from some corners of social media, who claimed Lori was ‘overreacting’ and that ‘LEGO’s more popular now, it’s life’, the LEGO Group quickly responded with an explanation: “We know some new sets are popular, so we want to give as many fans as possible the opportunity to grab one! Sometimes this means we put item limits on certain sets. If you’d like to purchase an extra one, keep checking the website for limit updates or visit your local store!”

Lori replied, again suggesting increasing the limit of Elvis sets per customer to six. Perhaps demonstrating the power of getting your voice heard on social media, the LEGO Group – to its credit – wasted no time in making the change, announcing on Wednesday that the limit for
