A vehicle carrying equipment for the England Men’s National Team was targeted in a theft in which £13,500 worth of items were stolen, including a LEGO set valued at £89.99.
The incident occurred while the vehicle was transporting gear from England’s pre-tournament training camp in Florida to Kansas City.
Around 35 items were taken in total, raising initial concerns that preparations for the opening World Cup fixture against Croatia on June 17 could be affected. However, it is now understood that none of the missing items will impact match preparations, with most already recovered.
Among the stolen items were four pairs of football boots, a pair of goalkeeper gloves, and a training kit. However, the most unexpected item taken was a LEGO set.
43025 Nike Air Max 95 – a 1,213-piece release created through a collaboration between the LEGO Group and Nike to mark Air Max Day 2026 – was listed among the items reported missing in court documents.

Retailing at £89.99 / $99.99 / €99.99, and with Nike as the official kit supplier to all England football teams, it is not yet known which player or staff member the set belonged to, or whether it was among the recovered items.
Two men, Mustafa Salik and Erfan Kamal, have been charged in connection with the incident, each facing one count of receiving stolen property. The charge is classified as a Class D felony under Missouri law and carries a potential sentence of one to seven years in prison upon conviction.
Jackson County prosecutor Melesa Johnson said: “Jackson County will not tolerate any criminal activity that targets World Cup visitors, including the international teams that have travelled here to compete.”
