The upcoming LEGO Icons 11371 Shopping Street includes yet another brick-built take on that most humble of porcelain fittings – a toilet.
The LEGO Modular Buildings Collection will be expanding once again in January 2026, thanks to the imminent arrival of 11371 Shopping Street. Inside the 3,456-piece LEGO Icons set are various rooms for fans to explore, including a furnished flat above Brickleys music store that has a bathroom with an all-too-familiar LEGO build inside.
We’ve seen brick-built toilets in numerous LEGO sets released over the years and it’s an odd item that keeps making a return, often in surprising models and unusual places. The porcelain fitting has also been the subject of much discussion by the 11371 Shopping Street design team in a recent video regarding the creation of the upcoming set.

“Strangely, there are still those things that even adults love the same as kids,” explained the LEGO Modular Buildings Collection’s original creator, Jamie Berard.
“Putting a toilet in a modular building is amazingly popular. Like, the fans go crazy for it, almost as much as the kids, that it becomes one of their favourite features and it’s something we like to use strategically. We don’t want to overuse the toilet, but it is one of those things that we know people respond well to.”
That ‘strategic’ approach to toilets has previously seen them pop up in the likes of 10325 Alpine Lodge, 10335 The Endurance, 21338 A-Frame Cabin, 21344 The Orient Express Train, 71799 NINJAGO City Markets and many more models over the years.

“We planned it out that we would have a toilet, but then we didn’t know where to put that toilet in the first place,” added 11371 Shopping Street’s Senior Model Designer, Hoang Huy Dang.
“So we wanted to make this one quite special. We happen to have that space in the tower and I actually started with something else, like a sort of reading room almost, but I think it’s just another on top moment where we realised that it would be very interesting to have a unique place to have a toilet like that in the LEGO street.”
11371 Shopping Street is due to launch for Insiders first on January 1, 2026. It will be accompanied by 40913 Vintage Parade Car, a free GWP with all purchases of £180 / $200 / €200 and over between January 1 and 11 (while stocks last). The LEGO Icons model will then receive a wider release from January 4, with the set priced at £229.99 in the UK, $249.99 in the US and €249.99 in Europe.
