The LEGO Group and Universal have unveiled two new LEGO Shrek sets coming our way later this year to celebrate the franchise’s 25th anniversary.
The original Shrek movie turns a quarter of a century old in 2026 (feeling old yet?), and to commemorate the occasion the LEGO Group has cooked up a pair of display models landing on shelves in June – with more apparently in the works, as LEGO Creative Lead Raquel Ojeda says ‘this is just the beginning’. For now, check out the first two LEGO Shrek sets below…
72423 Shrek, Donkey & Puss in Boots
Price: £109.99 / $129.99 / €119.99 Pieces: 1,403 Release date: June 1, 2026
The LEGO Group has been going heavy on buildable characters lately, especially in the animated space (see what feels like the entire LEGO Disney theme right now), so it’s no surprise to see the first flagship LEGO Shrek set building out the green ogre on a larger scale.
While Puss doesn’t seem strictly to scale with the other two characters, it’s a very well-realised minifigure, complete with a custom moulded head and hat, cape and dual-moulded legs. The display base includes a ‘beware ogre’ sign, while there are Easter eggs littered around the scene and even inside Shrek’s gut. The finished model stands 24cm tall, 21cm wide and 16cm deep.
40923 Shrek, Donkey & Gingy Figures
Price: £19.99 / $24.99 / €24.99 Pieces: 259 Release date: June 1, 2026
Looking for something slightly more accessible from LEGO Shrek?
Both of these sets are available to pre-order at LEGO.com from today (April 23) and will ship from June 1. A LEGO Shrek Collectible Minifigures series is also rumoured to be on the way later this year, so Puss in Boots may not be the only LEGO Shrek minifigure we see in 2026…
