LEGO Star Wars Solo build: 75211 Imperial TIE Fighter

LEGO Star Wars Solo build: 75211 Imperial TIE Fighter
As the LEGO Group has demonstrated, there are many ways to build a TIE Fighter – the same is true for micro versions, as today's Solo: A Star Wars Story build demonstrates While fans wait for Solo: A Star Wars Story to arrive in cinemas, the LEGO Group has released five new sets to get builders familiar with the main vehicles that will appear in the film. If you want to decorate your desk with something from this stand-alone movie though, the actual sets are rather too big. Every day this week, Brick Fanatics will provide instructions to build a micro version of one of the new Solo sets. The design is so iconic and familiar that you can make a micro version using a 1x1 brick with studs on the side and two 2x2 tiles on either end. I have made several micro TIE Fighters using different methods, but for this design I wanted to try something a bit different. This is the largest of the micro builds I have created for the Solo: A Star Wars Story launch, but I feel it has a lot of lovely detail built in that it makes for a great micro model to display. For this build I have utilised my favourite LEGO piece a number of times, the 1x1 round plate with hole. I just love how handy this piece is for connecting bricks together that otherwise would have no connection. When you attach the wings onto the cockpit piece, you will see what I mean. One thing to note is that steps 5 to 7 and 9 to 13 need to be repeated. Repeating steps 5 to 7 will provide the two 'bars' of the cockpit piece and steps 9 to 13 will provide the two wings.
