LEGO Technic 2024 set listings confirm new licensed vehicles

Recent online listings for multiple LEGO Technic sets confirmed for 2024 reveal a number of new licensed vehicles could be on the way next year.

Retailer Eldorado International recently posted listings for a massive line-up of LEGO sets confirmed to be arriving in the first five months of 2024. Included in the initial details were multiple LEGO Technic models, with at least 13 such builds heading our way next year. 

The set listings include a range of creations, a number of which look to be based on existing licensed vehicles. At this stage many of the specifics around the LEGO Technic models remain purely rumours for now (and should be treated as such), but the most recent information does provide a fascinating look at what we might expect to see from the theme in the first quarter of 2024.

Following in the race tracks of this year’s 76918 McLaren Solus GT & McLaren F1 LM could be another partnership between the LEGO Group and the supercar manufacturer. 42166 NEOM McLaren Extreme E Race Car looks to be an affordable purchase at €26.99, with a 252 piece count, while 42169 NEOM McLaren Formula E Race Car may be a larger 452-piece iteration for €52.99.  The all-electric racing vehicle certainly has a very distinctive shape, as well as a striking orange and black colour scheme.

42167 Mack LR Electric Garbage Truck would be the company’s first licensed LEGO Technic release since 2018’s 42078 Mack Anthem. Said to be a 503-piece build retailing for €34.99, the real-world vehicle is a sturdy 100% electric workhorse and definitely something different from the LEGO Technic theme.

We’ve had two John Deere-based LEGO Technic sets to date, in the shape of 42136 John Deere 9620R 4WD Tractor in 2022 and 42157 John Deere 948L-II Skidder this year. Primarily known for its agricultural machinery, the company might be continuing its partnership with the LEGO Group in 2024 with the arrival of 42168 John Deere 9700 Forage Harvester. The top of the line farming vehicle can handle heavy crop conditions and is powered by a true goliath of an engine.

Four additional LEGO Technic listings also reveal a quartet of space-based builds on the way next year, although there’s no way of knowing at this stage if the models will be part of the LEGO Group’s longstanding relationship with NASA.
