LEGO Zelda 77093 Ocarina of Time – The Final Battle recreates two battles in one, but without the excess pieces.
The second LEGO Zelda set follows somewhat in the footsteps of the first. Where 77092 Great Deku Tree 2-in-1 can be built into either the tree from Ocarina of Time or Breath of the Wild, the newly-revealed 77093 Ocarina of Time – The Final Battle can also be displayed as two separate moments from the iconic battle.
Although the set isn't split across two Zelda titles this time, you can either set Link and Zelda against a towering brick-built Ganon, or use the mechanism to cause the ruins to 'erupt' and reveal a minifigure of Ganondorf. The first minifigure version of the Demon King features a printed fabric cape and a new head piece, as well as a stand to look down on the other minifigures from.
It's a clever way of getting more display and play potential out of one set, this time without requiring any rebuilding or excess pieces. That was a blessing and a curse in 77092 Great Deku Tree 2-in-1, with some liking the versatility of the first-ever Zelda LEGO set in straddling two titles and others frustrated that the high piece count seemingly led to the high price, despite a large number of pieces not getting used in either option.
Certainly, the approach to 77093 Ocarina of Time – The Final Battle is kinder to your wallet, coming in at £99.99 / $129.99 / €119.99 for its 1,003 pieces, in comparison to 77092's £259.99 / $299.99 / €299.99 for 2,500 pieces. That's over half the piece count for over half the price, offering something a lot more affordable for Zelda fans.
It also offers a cheaper level of entry for Zelda minifigures, including the very same Link as seen in 77092 Great Deku Tree 2-in-1 but also new characters like the aforementioned Zelda and Ganondorf. That's sure to be a very welcome change for Zelda fans who just want a tiny Link in their collection.
You’ll be able to pre-order 77093 Ocarina of Time – The Final Battle from today ahead of its launch on March 1.
