LEGO House veteran Stuart Harris has announced that he will be stepping down from his role as Master Builder in 2026.
A permanent fixture in Billund and essentially the face of the LEGO House if ever there was one, Stuart has spent the past 12 years as a Master Builder at the company’s interactive attraction. He’s now calling time on a 22-year career at the LEGO Group, which he joined as a model designer in 2003, and will be hanging up his iconic yellow shoes in January 2026.
“Being part of the original small design team back in 2013, developing all the guest experiences and some of the most spectacular models the LEGO Group has ever made, it’s gratifying to see how much unleashed creativity and joy they bring to thousands of guests every year, demonstrating the endless possibilities of the LEGO brick,” Stuart wrote on LinkedIn.

You may have met Stuart in person if you’ve attended a LEGO Inside Tour, or even just visited the LEGO House, where he can often be found showing people round and chatting to guests. He’s also played a hand in designing or co-designing LEGO House-exclusive sets such as 40501 The Wooden Duck, 40504 A Minifigure Tribute and this year’s 40506 LEGO Fabuland Tribute.
Stuart’s time at the LEGO House will come to a close at the end of January 2026. And while he hasn’t mentioned any specific reasons for calling it a day at the LEGO Group, his LinkedIn post suggests he’s now looking for his next opportunity (though notes that the dress code must include yellow shoes, which will make sense to anyone who’s had the chance to meet him in person).
