My hopes for the LEGO Ideas second 2025 review results

The LEGO Ideas second 2025 review results are coming tomorrow, and we're sharing a personal wishlist, as well as a more realistic prediction.

The LEGO Ideas team have confirmed that they'll be sharing the results of the second 2025 review, featuring 146 submissions, tomorrow. It's by far the biggest review round ever and is sure to have one of the most monumental results announcements, no matter what. Should the LEGO Ideas team approve substantially more than their usual number of submissions, we're looking at at least 100 rejected projects this time.

With any luck, quite a few proposals will be approved for future sets, and we're here to predict what has been selected, but this is only speculation. Since this review round is so massive, it felt only right to share two different predictions for the results, based on my personal wants and what I believe is more realistic.

My personal wishlist

I'm personally hoping that at least four projects will be approved for a LEGO Ideas set tomorrow, ideally including at least one of the submissions highlighted above. The numerous Gravity Falls proposals present a problem if any one of them is approved, as the two similar submissions would then be rejected. I'm hoping to see all three approved and merged into one set, even though the LEGO Group would then have to dish out more of the set's profits than usual.

The LEGO Ideas community's consistent support for a Gravity Falls model has me hoping that this will finally be our time, but that's why this part of the list is my personal hopes. Otherwise, Avatar the Last Airbender – Netflix by BenFank is another top pick given the LEGO Group's strong current partnership with Netflix. While I would prefer a set based on the animated series, the minifigures and designs are similar enough to make this project satisfying.

My last two personal predictions have no licenses attached to them, and those are some of my favourite LEGO Ideas models. Islands in the Sky by Willcox_Design is one of the most interesting concepts for LEGO wall displays I have seen, and an official set would be able to sufficiently expand on this proposal with more bridges, additional islands and other models.

Baron von Barron's Working Modular Fairground is a great achievement of LEGO design, packing in so many functions into a tight space without looking too crowded. Whether it maintains its modular aspect or not, the thought of a motorised LEGO fairground is enough to draw me in.

A more realistic prediction

A more realistic selection of projects for approval in the second 2025 review results includes Rubik’s Cube: Fully Functioning Model by Kragle Dog. LEGO Ideas' recent history with life-sized objects and interesting functionality makes this submission a clear contender, ready to wow the mainstream audience with the strength of a popular toy attached to it.

Another popular topic in LEGO Ideas has been sets inspired by movies from the 1980s, including 21330 Home Alone. That Christmas-adjacent LEGO Ideas model has been a hit, and there's an ideal follow-up in the second 2025 review. National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation - Griswold House by twrt0es is based on the titular movie, which has become a Christmas classic and one of the highest-grossing Christmas films.

The LEGO Group's affinity for buildable characters, including 21361 Gizmo, could open the door to other projects too. Garfield by WetWired is a similar build based on the popular animated character, who is having a resurgence with a new film in the works. This particular build demonstrates how effectively the character can be recreated with rounded LEGO pieces.

Airbricks95's Jumanji Game Board is one of a few submissions in this review round based on Jumanji, which was already approved for a LEGO Ideas set as a finalist in a challenge. The LEGO Group has a chance to explore that partnership now, and please the LEGO Ideas community, and the three submissions are different enough that the LEGO Group may be able to select just one for a future set.
