LEGO Tintin is finally here, thanks to LEGO Ideas 21367 Tintin Moon Rocket, but could we see more sets based on Hergé's work in the future?
21367 Tintin Moon Rocket was revealed last week ahead of its launch on April 1. Tintin fans are undoubtedly pleased to see the iconic spacecraft in LEGO form, but there's obviously plenty more inspiration from Hergé's works that the LEGO Group could choose from.
Speaking to LEGO Fan Media at a recent roundtable, LEGO Ideas Design Manager Jordan Scott was asked directly whether any more LEGO Tintin sets might be on the way.
"I always say that LEGO Ideas only does something once, so we probably won't do anything else," Jordan answered. "That's not to say that another team wouldn't, but obviously we can't say whether or not we will. There are a lot of iconic vehicles that would make pretty cool LEGO models. The shark submarine is one that comes to mind. Again, it would be a very challenging shape to make in LEGO bricks, but I'm sure people could do it.
"I think there's space to do other types of products. But again, whether or not we will, we'll see what happens in the future."
After all, the reasons that 21367 Tintin Moon Rocket works so well is great fodder for more models: the colours, the unique style, the beloved nature of the work. The minifigures in 21367 Tintin Moon Rocket are all kitted out in space gear (logically, seeing as they're in a rocket), but other sets would also offer the opportunity for the characters to appear as minifigures in less specific outfits.

When asked what it is about the Adventures of Tintin that goes so well with LEGO sets, Jordon added: "They all have the ingredients of a good story that we would see in a play theme. It's about adventure.
"You have good versus evil, you have mystery, it's explorative, it's curious. You've got iconic vehicles, iconic characters, and iconic objects. I see it like Indiana Jones, and what we used to do with Adventurers. It's that style of IP, going to different places in the world, as well as space and underwater – you're going everywhere.
"You could imagine it as a play theme, going to space one year, and other years going to the sea, the forest, or the jungle. It just has all the ingredients of a great story for kids, and adults as well."
Of course, these are just ideas from Jordan, not any confirmation that the LEGO Group could be planning more sets. There's far from any surety as it stands – but definitely a lot of potential. Fingers crossed, Tintin fans...
In the meantime, LEGO Ideas 21367 Tintin Moon Rocket will be available to buy from April 1, retailing for £139.99 in the UK, $159.99 in the US, and €159.99 in Europe.
