The latest pair of LEGO sets to be revealed couldn't be more different, but they have in common a swathe of new pieces and prints.
Today's new LEGO set reveals were Super Mario's 72050 Luigi & Mach 8 for Mario Day and One Piece's 75647 Gum-Gum Fruit for the debut of Netflix's second season of the live-action adaptation. Aside from the fact that they're both made out of LEGO elements, there's not much connecting these two specific sets, though both reveals were perfect for March 10, 2026.
What they do have in common, though, is the variety of new pieces and decorations to find across them. We've looked through all of the official imagery to see these new pieces and explore how they might be used outside of these initial appearances.
Luigi-specific decorations
Just as we saw with Mario in 72037 Mario & Standard Kart, 72050 Luigi & Mach 8 comes with many character-specific prints on the figure and kart for Luigi. The ears and gloves are the only printed pieces that appear to be identical to the 2025 kart creation.
LEGO One Piece's first 2026 set, 75647 Gum-Gum Fruit has just one new piece, and it's one of the most unusual so far. What we've coined the Triple-swirled LEGO dishes come in the medium lavender colour seen in 11508 Daisies. There are many of these in the model, closely matching the unique texture of the fruit from the anime and the live-action series.
Another miniature moustache
Another similarity between 72037 Mario & Standard Kart and 72050 Luigi & Mach 8 comes in the form of a new LEGO moustache. The nose between the two brothers is likely the same element, but Luigi's moustache is specially designed for him to be as accurate to the character as possible.
Fresh Luffy face prints
Of the two Luffy minifigures in 75647 Gum-Gum Fruit, Young Luffy comes with a pair of new face prints on his head. The younger depiction of the character now features a chewing face and an annoyed expression, going well with the scene inside the build. This makes the minifigure different from that of 75636 Windmill Village Hut.
A windscreen, or maybe a visor
One of the most interesting new elements in 72050 Luigi & Mach 8 is a windscreen piece measuring seven studs deep and 14 studs wide. It matches the shape of the windscreen on the in-game kart, but it brings to mind another new kind of LEGO set in which it would be perfect.
The new LEGO Editions helmet models are based on the latest style of helmets in the motorsport, featuring a new visor element to match them.
The windscreen piece seen in 72050 Luigi & Mach 8 is similar, but wouldn't be accurate enough for modern F1 helmets. An upscaled version of a classic helmet would be more appropriate for this Super Mario piece.
A Gum-Gum Fruit sign
The last notable element in 75647 Gum-Gum Fruit is a decorated sign for the sculpture, which has limited use outside of the context of the One Piece set. You may be able to use it in a food stall for Gum Gum Fruit in a LEGO market scene, but otherwise, it's likely best to keep it on the base.
The Mach 8's rims
LEGO Super Mario's new 72050 Luigi & Mach 8 features printed rims on LEGO dish elements, much like in 72037 Mario & Standard Kart. These may be used in other LEGO vehicles, though they are possibly too specifically designed for any official sets beyond Super Mario.
72050 Luigi & Mach 8 will be released on April 1 and is available to pre-order now. 75647 Gum-Gum Fruit launches on August 1 and is now up for pre-order.
