A Deadpool fan has taken the only appropriate LEGO set ever made along to the Deadpool and Wolverine premiere.
Deadpool has only ever made an appearance in one LEGO set: LEGO Marvel 6866 Wolverine's Chopper Showdown. Just like the upcoming movie, Deadpool and Wolverine, he appeared opposite Wolverine in their comic-accurate suits. Seeing as there are no LEGO sets based on the upcoming movie so far (although a LEGO-fied trailer gives us a taste of what could have been, this is perhaps the closest we'll ever get to a set linked to the long-awaited live-action team-up between the two heroes.
Instagram user laygogh decided to mark the occasion of the movie's New York premiere by bringing 6866 Wolverine's Chopper Showdown along to the red carpet. The video appears to be taken fairly early on in the evening, seeing as not many people are already on the carpet – but they do appear to have got a signature from someone on the retired LEGO set.
It's unclear whether the signature was there originally or whether the LEGO Marvel set was signed at the premiere, or even who the signature is from. Comparing it to other signatures from stars Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman, it doesn't seem to match up but we can't quite make out whose it actually is.
If it is a signature from one of the two main stars, that's sure to only help the value of this set. It appears to be a closed box, which can go for as high as $400 on secondhand marketplaces like BrickLink and eBay. It's the only set to ever include a Deadpool minifigure and there aren't any rumours even as far ahead as LEGO Marvel's first 2025 wave that suggest that's going to change.
