Second LEGO Disney mini castle model reported for 2024 

Another LEGO Disney mini castle model may be due in 2024, even though 40478 Mini Disney Castle isn’t planned to retire until the end of next year. 

Price comparison site brickmerge.de has added a listing for 40708 Mini Castle under the LEGO Disney theme. With a reported January release, the initial name of the set sounds similar to the currently available 40478 Mini Disney Castle, based on the Magic Kingdom theme park castle. 

Notably, 40478 Mini Disney Castle is currently scheduled to retire at the end of 2024, meaning these two builds could be on shelves at the same time. While that could change at any moment, as we cover in our monthly retiring updates, it may not make sense for 40708 Mini Castle to also focus on the Magic Kingdom castle. 

Instead, it might be wise for it to draw from other Disney Parks castles or one from a movie. That’s still an extensive array of locations for it to potentially be inspired by. The list includes that of Disneyland and any one of the Disney Princess films, most of which have a castle of some kind. 

Provided this listed model is anything like the rest of the LEGO Disney range, it could also include an exclusive minifigure following in the footsteps of 40478 Mini Disney Castle and 40521 Mini Disney Haunted Mansion. 

40478 Mini Disney Castle includes a Mickey Mouse minifigure though this would likely depend on the source material in 40708 Mini Castle. Keep in mind that the name is possibly preliminary and that the listing may have some inaccuracies too. 

Whatever the case may be, it seems that LEGO Disney fans can look forward to another castle creation in early 2024. Hopefully, you’ve got the budget for it after 43222 Disney Castle. Don't forget that 40613 Palace of Agrabah is also rumoured for later this year as part of the Mini Disney range.

Out of these, 43236, 43237, 43238 Elsa’s Frozen Castle, 43246 Princess Market Adventure, 43248 and 43249 are listed as being compatible with 40708 Mini Disney Castle on the price comparison site. Exactly how they could combine has yet to be seen.
