LEGO Ideas 21341 Disney Hocus Pocus: The Sanderson Sisters’ Cottage is closely based on the original film, with plenty of comparisons to make.
21341 Disney Hocus Pocus: The Sanderson Sisters’ Cottage is heavily inspired by the first film rather than the more recent sequel. Now that the set has been revealed ahead of launch on July 1 for VIP members or for all on July 4 for £199.99 / $229.99 / €229.99, it’s time to see how it stacks up next to the original movie.
Looking at some of the unique prints and accessories scattered throughout the model, here are a few things that Hocus Pocus enthusiasts can look forward to.
The Black Flame Candle
The iconic Black Flame Candle is included in 21341 Disney Hocus Pocus: The Sanderson Sisters’ Cottage with it on display in the cottage-turned-museum. While the flame is distinctly transparent instead of black, the candle features an exclusive and detailed print that could be useful outside the set too.
The Book of Spells
Using a sticker, the Book of Spells has also found its way into the latest LEGO Ideas model. The eye is closed on the cover. It comes complete with a page that appears to reference the transformation of Thackery Binx into a cat, showing us how the page might have looked in the film.
The smoke
The purple smoke that emits from the cottage’s chimney is an iconic part of the first film and it is recreated in 21341 Disney Hocus Pocus: The Sanderson Sisters’ Cottage using the newer cloud elements. They appear to be static in the LEGO Ideas set, though their inclusion is sure to be appreciated by fans of the film.
The vacuum cleaner broom
In lieu of a broom in the modern age, a vacuum cleaner is used by Mary Sanderson as the witches’ preferred mode of transportation. Using a hockey stick and a handful of other bricks, this is featured in the LEGO Ideas Hocus Pocus model.
The tombstones
Three tombstones are included on the gate build in 21341 Disney Hocus Pocus: The Sanderson Sisters’ Cottage. There’s one apiece for Emily and William, just like in the movie, while the third includes the name of fan designer Amber Veyt.
The salt

Hocus Pocus proved that salt can be surprisingly useful as a defence against the trio of maniacal witches. Thankfully, the minifigures in 21341 Disney Hocus Pocus: The Sanderson Sisters’ Cottage can make use of salt to defend themselves with the familiar can included with a unique print.
21341 Disney Hocus Pocus: The Sanderson Sisters’ Cottage launches July 1 for VIP members, or July 4 for everyone else, for £199.99 / $229.99 / €229.99.
