That LEGO Pokémon Pikachu sure looks familar to us...

The first three official LEGO Pokémon sets are here, and at least one of them is looking somewhat familiar to us.

Three LEGO Pokémon sets (plus a GWP and Insiders Reward) have officially been revealed by the LEGO Group: 72151 Eevee, 72152 Pikachu and Poké Ball, and 72153 Venusaur, Charizard and Blastoise. They're all available to pre-order now ahead of their full release on February 27.

Looking at 72152 Pikachu and Poké Ball might make you feel a strange sense of deja vu; it certainly had Brick Fanatics' Matthew feeling that way, striking a passing resemblance to a similar Mega set. Of course, as the two sets are based on the same creature, there were always going to be similarities, but it also means there's an easy comparison to be drawn between the two brands' takes on the popular character.

Join Matthew over on our most recent YouTube video for a closer look at who built Pikachu best between the LEGO Group and Mattel, as well as a dive into all three of the first LEGO Pokémon retail sets ever.
