Time isn’t running out yet for The Hourglass on LEGO Ideas

Another LEGO Ideas project, The Hourglass, has made it to the review stage on LEGO Ideas, bringing the total number of current projects to be reviewed to 69.

The number of fan creator submissions to reach 10,000 supporters on LEGO Ideas has been climbing steadily. And while a few submissions have been removed from the review stage, it’s fairly likely that we’ll get to 70 LEGO Ideas projects in the review stage in the next few weeks.

The Hourglass, made by LEGO Ideas fan creator Brick Dangerous, is made up of 575 pieces, and has a steampunk style exterior. It has several gears in muted colours to decorate the exterior of the hourglass, and smaller pieces inside that can really fall like sand. If chosen to be an official set, only one colour choice would be selected.

The design itself was inspired when the creator was building a Ninjago ship, and the intention was to make an ‘an industrial style design’ to measure time in a visually interesting way. The project manages to do just that, and at roughly 22cm would make a stunning display piece if chosen by the LEGO Group to be an actual set.

The review stage, where the LEGO Group decides whether a project should be made into an official set, will begin in May, and as that time gets nearer we’re excited to see how it goes.
