Custom LEGO time machines are headed in a new direction

The online LEGO community have been eagerly remixing 77256 Time Machine from Back to the Future, but one fan is taking it in a new direction.

From a Time Cruisers reference to folding wheels and amending the gap between the bonnet and the windshield, 77256 Time Machine from Back to the Future has been a hit with the LEGO customs community. The iconic nature of the franchise and the affordable nature of this vehicle position it perfectly for creative remixes of the official model, but they all have the DeLorean base in common.

That was the case, at least, until Uranium-Sandwich657 on Reddit asked what would have happened if Doc Brown chose another car as the base of his time machine. They've applied pieces from 77256 Time Machine from Back to the Future to a couple of different builds to answer that question, including 76934 Ferrari F40.

Remixing 77256 Time Machine from Back to the Future with 76934 Ferrari F40 results in a vehicle that would easily reach 88 miles per hour, and the parts work well enough with the red colour scheme to result in a polished build.

On the other end of the spectrum is their remix of 77256 Time Machine from Back to the Future with 60498 Tractor. As they joke in their title, this vehicle probably won't be reaching 88 miles per hour, but the parts blend in much better with the blue colour scheme of the LEGO City model.

It's a clever direction to take the custom 77256 Time Machine from Back to the Future creations. The minifigure-scale release only makes combining the DeLorean's parts with similar-scale vehicles that much easier.
