First look at LEGO Pokémon 72151 Eevee in hand reveals hidden Easter egg

A first look at 72151 Eevee in hand has revealed a hidden Easter egg squirrelled away inside the cheapest LEGO Pokémon set (so far).

Landing on shelves next month as the most affordable of the three 18+ LEGO Pokémon display sets, 72151 Eevee clocks in at just £54.99 / $59.99 / €59.99. That should have it on the radar of most Poké-fans (are they called that? They are now), especially compared to the much bigger and more expensive 72152 Pikachu and Poké Ball and 72153 Venusaur, Charizard and Blastoise. But there’s another reason to grab Eevee too…

Self-described ‘Pokémon girlie’ Abbeymew has already gone hands-on with 72151 Eevee courtesy of the LEGO Group, and her latest video on TikTok shows off a closer look at the 587-piece build out of the box. While she doesn’t give us much insight into the majority of the build, she does take a moment to reveal the Easter egg hidden inside Eevee’s head.

Part of the structure that holds Eevee’s head together features a series of colourful rounded 1x1 tiles, each intended to represent one of the Pokémon’s eight different evolutions (or Eeveelutions, if you prefer). Those include – deep breath – Vaporeon, Jolteon, Flareon, Espeon, Umbreon, Leafeon, Glaceon and Sylveon. While the LEGO set only includes Eevee’s basic form, it’s a neat nod to the other unique Pokémon it can evolve into.

Will we ever see any of those other Eeveelutions released at the same scale as 72151 Eevee? It’s impossible to say for sure right now, but we wouldn’t bet against it. Eeveelutions are big players in the wider world of Pokémon merch, after all…

72151 Eevee debuts February 27 for £54.99 / $59.99 / €59.99 and is available to pre-order now.
