LEGO Harry Potter 76417 Gringotts may not be restocked in US

LEGO Harry Potter 76417 Gringotts Wizarding Bank Collectors' Edition reportedly won't be restocked in the US, despite a July retirement.

There's bad news for anyone hoping to secure a discount on 76417 Gringotts Wizarding Bank Collectors' Edition directly from the official online store before it retires in July. The huge LEGO Harry Potter model is now listed as sold out in the US, prompting peyyharpp on Reddit to ask the LEGO Group's customer support when the set would be restocked ahead of the July 2026 retirement date.

Unfortunately, the reported response from the customer service team states that there are no restocks planned before July, at least in the US.

It's not uncommon for major LEGO models to sell out for good a couple of months before they retire, but this is a full six months ahead of the retirement date for 76417 Gringotts Wizarding Bank Collectors' Edition. That's exceedingly rare for a retiring LEGO set, but the response shows that it is entirely possible. Comments under this post are understandably confused as fans share tips for how US fans might still find a copy.

"It’s wild that they put this set on sale for Black Friday with no plans to restock it," comments effigeewhiz. "Should have just left it off the sale, made more money and kept it in stock longer. Seems like an error because most of those other sets on sale retired last year. It was a strange outlier. This is the second Harry Potter set in 6 months to do this. Diagon Alley was gone way before retirement, also."

While the comment makes a good point about the popularity of 75978 Diagon Alley before its retirement, it only sold out for good in the US three months before its date, not quite a full six months as is the case here.

With a modular ground-level section, an underground expanse, a dragon build and many exclusive minifigure, it's not surprising to see the LEGO Harry Potter set be so popular, but it's still unfortunate news for anyone in the US who was hoping to score the model before it retired. Now, you're out of luck without heading to another retailer or the secondary marketplace.

76417 Gringotts Wizarding Bank Collectors' Edition remains available on back order in other regions, and let this serve as a reminder that the set can sell out even six months before it retires. Anyone who simply must have the biggest LEGO Gringotts may want to act sooner rather than later.

Our review of the £369.99 / $429.99 / €429.99 set praised the fun and innovative design of the structure, especially the Ukrainian Ironbelly, which sits atop the bank. 76417 Gringotts Wizarding Bank Collectors' Edition is currently on back order, but available to purchase in the UK and Europe, on back order until February 5 and 4, respectively.
