An existing LEGO Ideas set proved to be a source of inspiration for the fan designer behind the upcoming
Fans of Disney Pixar films will most likely be bouncing with joy at the moment, following this week’s reveal of
Based on Toby Brett’s winning LEGO Ideas submission,

“The design process started with watching the Luxo Jr. short film from 1986,” said Toby in a recent LEGO Ideas blog post, “and the Pixar intro over and over again to study the movement and design and then trying to mimic this in LEGO bricks.
In just a 10-second clip, Luxo Jr. has such a curious and mischievous personality, and I thought this would be fun to translate into a LEGO set.”
In addition, Toby also looked to another brick-built Disney Pixar creation when designing his submission, 21303 WALL-E. The 677-piece model was released in 2015 and is now long-since retired, yet remains a firm fan-favourite.

“I remember looking through previous LEGO Ideas sets for inspiration and seeing the brilliant LEGO Ideas WALL-E set. I thought Luxo Jr. would make the perfect companion on the display shelf of Pixar fans!”
