LEGO Ideas 21331 Sonic the Hedgehog has secrets in the instructions

Instructions for the latest LEGO Ideas set are online, revealing references in the manual for 21331 Sonic the Hedgehog – Green Hill Zone.

We've already revealed that 21331 Sonic the Hedgehog – Green Hill Zone is filled with Easter eggs and details that link back to the original game, including a collection of Chaos Emeralds.

However, the references continue inside the instruction booklet. As unveiled thanks to the full manual being uploaded to the official LEGO website, the new Sonic minifigure will be right by your side during construction

When you encounter a brick-built Badnik (the enemy robots), Sonic will stop running along a progress bar at the bottom of each page and lose his rings, just like he does in the original title.

Thankfully, the minifigure will recover and keep running along, filling up the grey bar as he does. At the end of the build, when 21331 Sonic the Hedgehog – Green Hill Zone is finished, Sonic will celebrate by showcasing the Seven Chaos Emeralds, leaving you to enjoy your newly completed set.
