LEGO NINJAGO Dark Island trilogy comic announced

LEGO NINJAGO Dark Island trilogy comic announced

One decade after it was released, LEGO NINJAGO's Dark Island comics will be gathered into one trilogy later this year with new cover art.

LEGO NINJAGO's Dark Island was a three-part comic series released in 2026 following the events of Skybound and preceding the Day of the Departed special. It was originally published by Little, Brown and Company, but a trilogy volume has just been announced by Image Comics, by way of Bleeding Cool.

The Image Comics edition will combine the three parts into one 240-page book launching on June 3, 2026, featuring new cover art by artist Tri Vuong. A draft of this cover art has been showcased, but this is not the final design.

The plot of LEGO NINJAGO Dark Island revolves around the titular sister island of NINJAGO and mysterious disappearances, setting up the Day of the Departed chapter with returning characters.

The comic remains canon to this day, but the three issues have been more challenging to find physical copies of. They have been republished in various issues of the NINJAGO magazine since 2016, but that's not ideal for new NINJAGO enthusiasts who want to catch up and have a copy for their collection.

This isn't the only LEGO NINJAGO comic releasing this year, as the all-new Strike of the Serpentine book is coming to shelves next month. Other non-set NINJAGO releases coming this year include a board game as the theme celebrates its 15th anniversary.
