Every LEGO Speed Champions Formula 1 set, year by year

LEGO Speed Champions' partnership with Formula 1 dates back to the first year of the theme, but the annual offerings have drastically changed.

The LEGO Group is continuing to go all-in with the Formula 1 partnership, especially in the car-centric Speed Champions line. After the 10th anniversary of the theme last year, 2026's selection of Formula 1 and adjacent builds is already proving to be the most varied and overall different ever, which is quite the achievement.

Here's a look at how LEGO Speed Champions Formula 1 sets have changed year by year since 2015, and why the 2026 range is such a remarkable shift for the theme.

2015

The first year of LEGO Speed Champions saw the theme focus not only on cars, but also on supporting structures and vehicles, the likes of which we never see in the theme today. This includes a garage for a McLaren F1 car, as well as a Ferrari F1 truck to transport the vehicle between races.

2017

2017 continued the focus on cars and supporting models through the fullest race track build to date, complete with a podium for the winners and a pit stop. The first single-car Formula 1 set was also released this year, as well as an employee-exclusive Mercedes gift, which thankfully greatly resembled the non-exclusive cars also available.

2018

2018's F1 representation in LEGO Speed Champions is light, but historic, consisting of a vintage race car on show in 75889 Ferrari Ultimate Garage. The task of exploring older Formula 1 cars has fallen to Icons since then, as Speed Champions continues to focus on the present of the sport.

2022

Speed Champions kept the focus of the theme on other aspects in the years between 2018 and 2022, with only one set in the latter year linked to Formula 1. This was 76909 Mercedes-AMG F1 W12 E Performance & Mercedes-AMG Project One, not entirely focusing on Formula 1 anyway.

2024

2024 started the current era of LEGO Speed Champions Formula 1 sets with a renewed emphasis on the sport. This included a polybag, single-car set and double-pack to represent McLaren and Aston Martin.

2025

Every single team was included in 2025's LEGO Speed Champions Formula 1 range, which saw 10 similar car creations launch to fully represent the current roster of teams in the sport. It remains to this day the most complete LEGO Formula 1 wave ever.

2026, so far

Looking at 2026, so far, Formula 1 continues to be a major focus for the theme, but it's already looking significantly different to 2025's selection. A new team is being brought into the fold through 77259 Audi Revolut F1 Team R26, recreating the new car design in the forthcoming season. The LEGO Group is also looking towards other aspects of the sport, such as F1 Academy through a polybag and the full-sized 77258 F1 ACADEMY LEGO Race Car.

The most outlandishly different of this year's LEGO Formula 1 sets so far, though, has to be 77252 APXGP Team Race Car. The set is based on the Oscar-nominated movie from 2025, joining both the list of movie cars and F1 models in the theme simultaneously.

No further F1 sets are currently rumoured for LEGO Speed Champions in 2026, but it's clear to see that this year has the most varied selection of sets based on the sport already.
