LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy will return next month, bringing chaotic deep cuts and references from Star Wars lore.
We've gone from shot to shot in the newly-released trailer for the second season of LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy – Pieces of the Past to pick out the best deep cuts, character appearances, and lore references. Some of them are simply fun inclusions, while others embody the true chaotic energy that Rebuild the Galaxy exudes. We've ranked them in order from least to most chaotic – and we're sure there are plenty more to come when the show drops in full on September 19.
The Bad Batch
Quick group shots show that members of the Bad Batch are making an appearance in Rebuild the Galaxy, including Omega and other members of the crew. They're only on screen for brief glimpses, so there's no way of knowing how big a role they will play in the show. With the plot centring around people needing to team up to take on the evil Solitus, we'd expect to see still more Star Wars characters appear, in an Avengers: Endgame-style climax.
Evil K-2SO
Not every familiar character is on the side for good, however. K-2SO appears but on the side of Solitus, using powerful weapons and his fan-favourite deadpan voice for evil means. There's also a brief shot of Andor on the side for good, pitting these once-friends against one another.
The Landolorian
Grogu seems to be unchanged in Rebuild the Galaxy, but his adoptive figure is no longer Din Djarin as the Mandalorian, but rather Lando Calrissan as the Landolorian. He has all the smooth-talking charm of his Calrissian ways, paired with the beskar armour of the Mandalorian.
The Force Burner Snowspeeder
Only one LEGO Star Wars set has been revealed so far, 75414 The Force Burner Snowspeeder, and we get a glimpse of how its unhinged look came to be. It appears to be created by the combined efforts of Sig and Dev Greebling, which perhaps is what gives it its unique Guy Fiere-esque look.
Solitus' ship
Solitus' ship, which sparks the creation of a rift that threatens to rip the galaxy apart, looks to be another hybrid creation. It's hard to tell exactly what it's made up of from the brief looks, but the rear half at least appears to have similar engines to the Tantive IV. The final silhouette looks a lot like a scorpion, which could have inspired the design.
BrickHeadz Ahsoka
As teased in the poster for the second season, Ahsoka makes an appearance like no other, debuting in her BrickHeadz form rather than as a minifigure. The wide-eyed gaze and blocky movements are LEGO humour at its finest.
Giant Chewie
The same goes for Giant Chewie, with 75371 Chewbacca translated onto screen one-to-one, complete with his cursed eyes. Next to the minifigures, he's a towering giant that commands the screen, big enough to throw shuttles around like they're toys.
Queen Amidala
Rebuild the Galaxy is known for how well it caters to LEGO Star Wars fans, and the appearance of this beloved, rare minifigure of Queen Amidala is a great example of that. Bonus points to the creators for her awkward waddle, thanks to the iconic skirt element.
Porrgil
Now we're getting into real chaos territory, with a Porrgil-Porg mixed creation that we're dubbing a Porrgil. The tiny puffin-like Porgs have combined with the space whales that travel through deep space and appear to spit out a tiny Dark Falcon – a nod to the means of travel in the Ahsoka TV show.
Darth Revan
Another deep cut that we have to mention is Darth Revan, who seems to appear as he does in 2014's 5002123 Darth Revan Polybag. Seen in the video game, The Knights of the Old Republic, the Sith Lord turned from the Jedi Order, only to be retrained as a Jedi while suffering from amnesia. He nearly made an appearance from beyond the grace in The Clone Wars, but the scene was ultimately removed.
Jaxxon
In the final scene of the trailer, Legends character Jaxxon also appears, voiced by Ben Schwartz. Perhaps the deepest of all cuts, he even acknowledges that people won't know who he is out loud, breaking the fourth wall in the best possible way. The smuggler first appeared in Marvel’s Star Wars #8 from 1977. His design was inspired by Warner Bros' Bugs Bunny, who often addressed strangers with the generic nickname 'Jackson' in the 1940s cartoons.
Spider Darth Jar Jar?
Last but not least. it looks like Darth Jar Jar has taken on some spidery droid legs, perhaps taken from an OG-9 homing spider droid. There's only a short look at it but it takes the already-chaotic character of Darth Jar Jar and all the lore that comes with it to a whole new level.
