LEGO The Marvels set design was affected by movie's delay

LEGO Marvel 76232 The Hoopty, based on The Marvels had its design affected by the movie's delay to most closely match the source material.

In an interview with LEGO designers regarding 76269 Avengers Tower and LEGO Marvel in general, designer Mark Stafford shared how the delay of The Marvels affected the film's tie-in LEGO model.

The Marvels release date has been moved its initial date of July 8, 2022, to November 11, 2022, then to February 17, 2023, and then to July 28, 2023, only to eventually be released on November 7, 2023. That's a significant number of changes which has now been confirmed to have affected 76232 The Hoopty in some ways.

"Most movies only have a couple of sets tied into it and it's not too difficult to move those," shares Stafford to MiniSuperHeroesToday. "76232 The Hoopty is another one I did which isn't out at all yet (at the time of the interview). That was originally done for a January launch this year but it's fairly easy – well not easy it causes problems – but we can move sets around as long as the movie doesn't go away."

"It did affect the set because I got a load of concept art in and I designed the model and I was three-quarters of the way done with it and then the movie was moved so we stopped. Then they managed to send more concept art so I was able to design the spaceship to more closely match what it'll be in the movie. How close it will be I don't know cause the concept art isn't the final design but from what I've seen in the trailer it's pretty close."

The Marvels is now in cinemas worldwide and 76232 The Hoopty is available now. Exactly what changes were made to the build have not been specified.
