With LEGO BrickLink Designer Program Series 4 sets arriving with backers and crowdfunding for Series 5 now closed, what's next for the initiative?
Crowdfunding for the LEGO BrickLink Designer Program Series 5 ended on June 24, 2025, with all five selected fan designs being fully funded. In addition, some backers of Series 4 have already started to receive their sets, which is actually slightly ahead of the estimated six-month window between pre-ordering and shipping.
However, there’s no rest for the LEGO BrickLink Designer Program, with a number of key dates already pencilled in for existing and upcoming series. With that in mind, here’s how things currently stand for the initiative for the rest of 2025 and beyond.
LEGO BrickLink Designer Program Series 5
Backers who crowdfunded the LEGO BrickLink Designer Program Series 5 now have to patiently await the arrival of their sets, which is likely to be sometime around November of this year. The Thieves of Tortuga, Mushroom Village, Antique Shop, Adventures in Transylvania and Popcorn Wagon were all fully funded, although it's worth noting that none of the models completely sold out.
LEGO BrickLink Designer Program Series 6
The five finalists for the LEGO BrickLink Designer Program Series 6 were chosen back in November 2024, with the crowdfunding stage for the sets due to kick off on October 6 at 8am PDT. Off-Road Adventure, The Art Factory, Gold Mine Expedition, Outlaw Forest Den and Sequoia Tree Trail all made the grade, but it’s anyone’s guess as to which ones will be successfully backed.
The winners were chosen from a list of 300 submissions, which were then whittled down via a fan vote last year before going through the LEGO BrickLink Designer Program approvals process. The finalist’s designs are now being refined, in accordance with guidelines laid down by the Model Governance and Building Instructions teams and should ship in March 2026.
LEGO BrickLink Designer Program Series 7
Featuring some of the best fan designs to date, the five LEGO BrickLink Designer Program Series 7 finalists were revealed earlier this year. That winning line-up includes Privateer Frigate Fortuna, W.A.L.T., Sushi Restaurant, Alchemist’s Shop and Antique Collection, any of which might receive enough support to enter production.
The LEGO BrickLink Designer Program Series 7 designs are also currently with the Model Governance and Building Instructions teams, although don’t expect crowdfunding for the sets to begin until sometime in February 2026, with shipping in July 2026.
LEGO BrickLink Designer Program Series 8
While the LEGO BrickLink Designer Program Series 8 is much further out than the rest, its five successful finalists have already been chosen via a livestream event that took place on June 14. Hitting the big time was another eclectic mix of fan designs such as Brick Railroad Locomotive, Coconut Cape, Dustmark Keep, University of Science and Hot Air Balloon.
Alas, it’ll most likely be a while before we hear anything more regarding the LEGO BrickLink Designer Program Series 8 models, with all five builds currently being refined and the crowdfunding stage for the sets not due to start until June 2026.
LEGO BrickLink Designer Program Series 9 and beyond
If you want to get involved in future BrickLink Designer Program rounds, you can submit your build(s) for Series 9 from September 2025. The LEGO Group has currently announced submission intake windows up through Series 11, which you can find detailed in the table below.
| BDP round | Submission window |
|---|---|
| Series 9 | September 2025 |
| Series 10 | January 2026 |
| Series 11 | May 2026 |
